Does this product allow you to bypass the built in DAC and stream directly to an external DAC or one built into an integrated amplifier (in the same way the Chromecast Audio let you do)?
Resolve compatibility issues with some (low-end) DACs that don’t handle the clock, variable sample rate/bit depth properly, or don’t support up to 24-bit/192kHz digital input. You can also control the device EQ, set music alarms, and create personalised routines using the WiiM Home app. Yes, it would be preferable of course for the odd occasion where it is noticeable, but on balance, I would rather have the Audio Pro Link One sat in my rack than the Wiim Mini. Should you decide that the WiiM's onboard DAC isn't quite up to the job and prefer to use it simply as a preamplifier or a bridge for other WiiM receivers around your home, the Pro Plus gets completely out of the way of your analogue sources.We will try our best however if we are unable to do this we will still install connect to plumbing and put the appliance in situ.
I know you could argue that its only cheap, but for about the same money the Audio Pro Link One’s hardware is infinitely superior. If you've used a streaming service before, then the WiiM Pro's interface should make complete sense to you. Would have been nice if the vanilla Wiim mini was bit perfect, as that would have ticked all of my boxes for a cheap streamer for use with an external DAC. The application software will be same except for the support of Chromecast audio and additional interfaces. Sound quality from the stereo analog output was decent enough, and will impress most entry-level audiophiles with its sound quality. Touch controls on the front give basic playback navigation and volume level control, but for everything else, the app is where it's at.
