I had to take a break from reading it because I had heard the line ‘he doesn’t suffer fools gladly’ one too many times and it still came up multiple times when I resumed the read. there was not much happening in the book, even though it has around 500 pages and you would expect more from that.I finished the book because I really thought it must lead to something, the intensity and specificity of hatred that the killer had for young girls due to their sexuality was really strong, I thought this must be explained in the end by some facts about the killers life, past or psychopathology.

Don’t get me wrong the story line was ok but I had guessed ‘whodunnit ‘ towards the beginning and it’s only at the last 10-20 pages that it’s revealed.In the opening sequence of the novel, the main characters Eamonn Docherty and Cathy Connor are thrown on the streets of London’s sleazy East End and they are left to be on their own.
