About this deal

I don't know if it's my mood or what, but the message in this book seems too blatant and "in your face". A heartfelt story which shows how a Robot that has been thrown into the scrapheap because he didn't have a heart then receiving a different type of heart in the form of a Bluebird, whom he lets nest in the space were his heart should have been to keep him warm during the winter. OUR AUTHOR AND ILLUSTRATOR DAVID LUCAS – Is a British author and illustrator, whose parents loved nature, something he took advantage of as a child getting outdoors as much as he could.

Day turns into night, Autumn into Winter, as he lies there, and this is beautifully and simply portrayed in four consecutive pictures. this modern fable about the power of love to regenerate unfolds at a gentle pace and to great effect.Considering the author’s track record and influences, it may find a welcome from younger audiences too. Also reminded me of Iron Giant film (friendship between the robot and the boy), the tin man in the Wizard of Oz (the robot that needed a heart). We at Grandroid company believe that we have to stop living I the past and begin living in the future.

its simple pictures steer the story away from sentimentality, and its readers will take a while to grow out of it. The slides are created using dual coding strategies to reduce the children’s cognitive overload and hopefully support children with SEN and EAL.As a follow-up, readers should be encouraged to make their own suggestions to complete the titular phrase. The children earn stickers for any homework brought in so once they have finished a piece please bring it in to school. An exhausted, migrating Bluebird shelters where the Robot’s heart used to be; he builds her a nest of wires. The story is sweet and sad and can teach kids some good things, but it awkwardly worded and even more awkwardly illustrated, to the point when a kid tells a completely different story, based on the illustrations, that has very little in common with what is written. The pack even goes a step further by offering a selection of resources and activities at the end of the pack to support teachers in the classroom.

Witty, digitally rendered vignettes portray youngsters diverse in terms of race and ability (occasionally with pets looking on) dealing with everything from friendship drama to a nerve-wracking footrace. This fable like tale, which has illustrations by the author integrated with the text, raises many questions in an accessible way for young readers including what it means to be a living being and ideas around wildness and domestication. Ik waarschuw wel, het einde daar moest ik toch even bijna huilen want was dat verdrietig maar tegelijkertijd prachtig en mooi.Readers of Lucas's previous titles will find his style as distinctive and his words as warming as ever. It might include jumps and rolls like pencil jumps and rolls, star jumps, straddle jump or even leaping and skipping.
