About this deal

You’ll need to think on your feet, get creative and push your luck to win the game where everyone has an answer for you.

THE ULTIMATE BLUFFING GAME:A fast-thinking, push-your-luck, bluffing game that’s a mix between Balderdash and The Chameleon. But like many party games, the joy comes from the people around the table more than what is in the box.

Whether you like being creative, finding out weird facts or being a little bit sneaky, Sounds Fishy has something for everyone. Overall, Sounds Fishy is a fun, simple party game that even those who don’t like bluffing games in our family enjoy playing. Sounds Fishy is a push-your-luck communication game where you try to spot fake answers whilst avoiding the real ones. We giggled our way through the style of answer one player consistently gave, only to assume red herring – where miraculously, it was the one time she played blue.

Each player will secretly look at their fish and see if they have a Red fish (Red Herring) or a Blue fish (Blue Kipper). However, Sounds Fishy is much easier and quicker to play and is packed with more interesting facts that leave players scratching their heads. There's no confusion about what you have to do during a match either, so even board game novices are unlikely to feel lost.Win points by spotting the fake answers invented by others but watch out for the real answer- flip it over too soon and lose all your points. There are 200 cards included, which is more than enough for casual play, but if you enjoyed it in the same way my gaming group had, with cards being so memorable, we’ll easily be out of cards in the next year. Sounds Fishy isn't about always knowing the right answer — it's about being able to spot the fake ones. Sounds Fishy isn’t about always knowing the right answer — it’s about being able to spot the fake ones. Before we get into the review main, I want to pay credit to Big Potato Games for their continued efforts towards sustainability with eco-friendly, recycled packaged Sure, it doesn't look as nice, but who cares?

There are 200 questions which should last quite a while, lots of points tokens, eight red herrings and one true blue kipper. Those players then have to come up with a response based on the secret role they've been given at the start of the round. The sort of questions you get are all quite vague, and generally things people would be inclined to know the answer too. They’ll also win a bonus if they correctly identify everyone, without falling prey to the True Blue Kipper. I played Sounds Fishy with different groups of varying sizes, and made sure I played each of its roles to get a better idea of what they were like.If a red herring is revealed the guesser gains a point and can continue to try to find more red herrings or stop if they wish to do so and retain the points. However, if they get it wrong and fall victim to the True Blue Kipper’s deception then they’ll spring a leak and lose all their points for that turn. Unlike Big Potato's other sneak-centric games (The Chameleon and Snakesss), the majority of you are telling fibs. Following the rules play should only last one or two rounds, with everyone getting a turn at guessing.
