About this deal

I've found it really hard to put down, much like Sali's previous books, as it's so comforting, honest and I've learned tips for things I didn't even know I needed tips for. That’s why I spent two years creating my own skincare line – my friends were telling me they were confused by modern skincare. It’s extremely natural looking and gives you a lovely golden glow no matter your skin tone, plus it’s hydrating and plumping.

Hughes is a beauty journalist and that is her area of expertise and from looking at photos of her online she appears to be far too young to have accumulated the gravitas and benefit of years of experience to advise on such serious matters as are contained in this book. I think if you're a fan of Sali Hughes than it makes sense to read as it's her chatting away and giving you advice. Some years ago I was at a homeless shelter in Cardiff making a documentary and, while waiting for the camera crew to set up, I saw two cardboard boxes full of toiletries. On the much tweeted about subject of upbringing / success and perceived privilege, but on a cheerier note: Who is the most famous or successful person who went to your school?

Cream Drench has all the good stuff – squalane, niacinamide, ceramides, glycerin, shea butter – and it’s cushiony, velvety, and leaves skin looking dewy. Not only is it a quick reference guide that can be dipped in and out of, but it's a cosy and comforting read that you can curl up with after a long day. She is also Beauty Editor on The Guardian, where she is known for her intelligent, straight-talking advice and honest product recommendations which are recognised across the beauty industry as having “the Delia effect” on sales.

But this book gets even worse as the author dispenses "advice" on abortions , breastfeeding and depression which is inappropriate and she is totally unqualified to do so. My favourite is by Authored – the shades are appropriately cool-toned, and it thickens and holds without any flaking. They felt like serious manuals from a person who knew more about the thing they were sharing than you did.But I try to stick to a light cleanser in the morning followed by a serum with some combination of vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. My favourites are Bobbi Brown’s Long Wear Cream Shadow Stick in ‘Taupe’ or ‘Sand Dune’, or the Vieve Eye Wand in ‘Old Gold’ or ‘Coffee’. The worst bits are when she gives advice on something very serious (that she hasn’t actually experienced) such as IVF.
