About this deal

For many Muslims today, especially those who have not grown up in a Muslim country, the value of the Quran as the Word of Allah may not be as strongly entrenched. Ten minutes a day, at least to be thankful for the great stuff that happened during the day, to make dua (pray) for myself, my family, my friends and my community; set my goals, finally, when they are achieved, to be proud of myself. Shortly after Muhammad’s death, the Quran was compiled by his companions who wrote down and memorized parts of it.

For example, you may be feeling rather stressed out recently and you stumble upon an Ayah reminding you that hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah. These words have the control to calm us during chaos, to be a balm to our wounds, to fill our darkness with light. Writing a journal is an exercise many of us who have gone through the North American school system may have encountered in English classes. With regular use, you will experience ease in taking on new habits, maintaining motivation and focus in acts of worship, and growing through a positive cycle of goal setting and achievement.

This simple practice may seem overwhelming or confusing to begin with so in this post, I have laid out in basic steps on how to start Quran journaling for absolute beginners. through this meditative process, I was able to connect it to my personal life and whatever I was going through at the time. If the Quran is eternally valid, and if it is addressing you today, then you must take every message as something which is totally and urgently relevant to your life and concerns, whether it be a value or norm, a statement or piece of knowledge, a character or dialogue, a promise or a warning, a command or a prohibition. These codices had differences that motivated the Caliph Uthman to establish a standard version now known as Uthman’s codex, which is generally considered the archetype of the Quran known today.

This journal allows you to realize the positive things in life and allows you to think about all the great things that happened that day. Through this meditative process, I was able to connect it to my personal life and whatever I was going through at the time. As you engage in this practice, you’ll find that your bullet journal becomes a sanctuary where your creativity and spirituality intertwine, guiding you on a journey of profound self-awareness and spiritual enrichment. Online communities, social media, or local study groups can provide a platform for such enriching exchanges. If you're the type who loves stationery, invest in a notebook with a nice design and a smooth writing pen.

I love everything about it - from the easily accessible (and authentic) duas that precede each entry, to my personal favorite - an iman goal a day (to keep Shaytan at bay). In fact, our relationship and connection with the Quran can be summarised in these very three words. He currently works as Head of Religious Education and Deputy Faith Lead at Eden Girls Waltham Forest. The Tafseer helps because it gives you much needed background and context to properly understand what the verses of the Quran mean. I would definitely recommend this journal for everyone but especially for anyone who wants to grow closer to understanding the Quran.

For instance, verses of the Quran which talk about motherhood may give you lots to think about and ponder if you are pregnant or are about to be a father. Whether it was part of your New Year’s Resolutions or a long time goal, Quran Journaling should be part of our lives.Highlight it (if you want to be more structured, you could have a color code as per the theme of the Ayah.
