About this deal

Special gold 800g tins are being sold exclusively at Tesco, while the 2kg tins are available to purchase from Costco. Cheryl Allen, head of sustainability at Nestlé confectionery, said the company thought long and hard before making the change. In the lead up to the festive season, the Nestlé-produced confectionery brand has revealed a revamped look for its much-loved tub of sweets. John Lewis is once again offering Brits the chance to personalise their own tub of Quality Streets this Christmas.

Two flavors - Orange Crunch and the Green Triangle - will remain in their existing foil wrappers as they can already be recycled. This is reflected in our television ad, which features real-life groups of family, friends and couples. We think we’ve done a really good job with the redesign, and feel confident that people will respond positively. Today’s news is the latest exciting instalment in the Quality Street story and we hope it will make the brand feel closer to all its fans, old or new.

Ellie Dent, Senior Brand Manager for Quality Street said: “We’ve had an overwhelming response to our pop-up stations over the last few years, so we know how much people love to choose the perfect mix of their favourite sweets and personalise their Quality Street tins. There will also be the option to send a free, personalised message along with the tin to a loved one. The tins can be personalised with a choice of chocolates, as well as the name on the top - perfect if you're looking for a Christmas gift for a chocolate lover.

Ellie Dent said: “This year’s marketing campaign is all about how Quality Street can make moments more memorable and build togetherness with friends and family, whatever your chosen definition of family is. We use your sign-up to provide content in ways you’ve consented to and improve our understanding of you. Nestlé is also partnering with John Lewis to bring back the successful ‘Choose Your Favourites’ pop up stations.

The move to new paper packaging for the nine remaining twist-wrapped sweets will take a few months to fully implement. Some chocolate-lovers may be perturbed to learn that their favourite source of chocolate indulgence over the Christmas period has been reduced in weight by 70g, having shrunken in size on several occasions in recent years. Visitors to the site can select up to six different sweets or opt for the classic Quality Street mix. The brand has been working to improve the sustainability of its operations and supply chain for well over a decade.Quality Street is 84 years old and as popular today as it has ever been, but that doesn’t mean the brand hasn’t changed over the years. That’s why we are making it easier than ever to create and personalise your Quality Street experience. Since it was first launched in 1936, Quality Street has been produced in Halifax, West Yorkshire, UK. We want to help shape a better and healthier world, a sustainable world, for people, families and pets, for our communities and for the planet. It is this belief that fuels our commitment to use our global scale, resources and expertise to contribute to a healthier future for people and the planet.

What’s more, you will be able to purchase throughout the year, whether it’s for Easter or birthday gifts, as a thank you, or simply to surprise someone with a tin of what you know are their favourites. The firm added that last year, it was the only mainstream brand to sell a tub weighing more than 700g, and that the tub still remains one of the heaviest on the market. Quality Street, one of Nestlé's most popular confectionery brands in the UK and across the world is introducing recyclable FSC-certified paper packaging for its twist-wrapped sweets worldwide. What’s more, by moving from two layers to a single paper wrap, we’ll remove two billion pieces of packaging material by 2023 and rest assured, all your favourites inside remain unchanged! Each of our existing machines need to be adapted to run paper and then rigorously tested by our packaging experts to ensure we're still delivering the same quality consumers expect when they open a box of Quality Street. Intrigue Salted Caramel and Praline Truffles are available at most major supermarkets, Orange Truffles are exclusive to Asda. They can personalise their tin with a name of their choice* and have it delivered straight to their door.
