We did need and get glimpse of the past to understand stand the present and Syl/Spence's love story. But I feel like the problems between Sylvie and Spencer were forgiven and forgotten way too quickly. So obviously with the open ended cliff they left us for Sylvie and spencer I was over the moon to get a book about them, especially after I found out it takes place years later after high school, and a second chance romance. Overall, I actually really enjoyed this book and I will probably read the rest of the books in this series as well! Not being able to have her own identity and always being compared to her mother AND her mother supporting that idea, must’ve been so painful and hard for her! I had been waiting for Sylvie's story since I read TIWTS, and I'm happy we finally got her POV and her back story. I am really looking forward (and hope to have the chance soon) of reading 'One Week Girlfriend' which sounds brilliant! The recommendations can only be send in the beginning of every month ( you have 3 weeks or less to finish the book that have been chosen).I think there should have been some groveling and time taken to properly heal their relationship (one of my favourite aspects of a second chance romance), but there wasn’t much of that at all. She is not a perfect person, she is flawed she is broken… but she is her and doing the best she can.
