About this deal

The Hong Kong police’s task to find a “supercop” who can infiltrate a drug lord’s organization (along with a tough Interpol inspector, played by Yeoh) cascades into a maelstrom of amazing action sequences featuring jaw-dropping stunts. Furious, Ka-Kui and Yang pursue Chaibat and his men over the roads, rooftops (where Ka-Kui and Yang defeat Panther and his partner), and skies of Kuala Lumpur. The 4K UHD and 1080 discs in this package have slightly different arrays of supplemental material, per the lists below. I particularly enjoyed the older piece where he talks in detail about how he pulled off some of the set pieces, including how he managed to shoot 28 complicated action setups in only 4 hours and how he almost died doing one of the helicopter sequences. I watched the HK cut with the original Cantonese mono track and it came through cleanly and clearly.

Chan portrays a disgraced detective named Chan Kwok-Wing, who accidentally leads his team into a trap from which he is the only survivor. One has Yeoh attempting to embarrass Chan with one of the better fighters at the military school, another sees Wah Yueh rescued from a work camp, and the last is on top of a moving train with two helicopter pilots. He is so brilliant in his role and this give us a good impression of the excellent actors there are in Hong Kong who deserve an opportunity to go to Hollywood. Although Jackie Chan only has a cameo appearance, some DVD covers prominently featured Chan, misleading audience to think that he was one of the main characters. One, the film got picked up by an American distributor (Dimension Films), which gave Chan a hit US release, albeit a few years after it was finished. In the United States, the film was screened in 1993 at the Hogg Memorial Auditorium in Austin, Texas, along with the original Police Story, with both films well-received among Austin audiences at the time.

It’s a welcome break from the standard commentary and interview extras and a fascinating story to boot. The stunts are a little better and more over-the-top than they would be in these films, but the story sure does leave a lot to be desired with its execution. Perry on Wong Jing’s ‘Kung Fu Cult Master’ starring Jet Li and Sammo Hung arriving on Blu-ray from Eureka in January One of the most over-the-top of Wong Jing's martial comedies.Like an Old Married Couple: Though they're posing as siblings, Kevin and Yang engage in a lot of Casual Danger Dialogue and Teeth-Clenched Teamwork during their undercover, even right before the end credit rolls. Connoisseurs will find Chan's helicopter-train chase far riskier, more exciting and more believable than its mates in Mission: Impossible and The Living Daylights". So, whenever one of his films can retain a stable, good storyline, it's usually pretty entertaining.
