The Pixel 7 has received a bit of a design overhaul for 2022, and now comes with a new “zirconia-blasted aluminium finish” that’s made from 100% recycled materials. There’s a bigger jump when it comes to graphics-related tasks but it’s here where the Pixel 7’s 90Hz display lets the side down a bit. Stabilisation has been massively improved across the board and you can now prioritise speech audio over background noise, which works well but is disabled at 60fps.Even so, the user experience feels polished, the AI-supported features are unique and competent, and the promise of more functionality via forthcoming 'feature drops' mean this Pixel is only likely to get better with time. Yes, the Google Pixel 7 is fully 5G, as long as you’re on a 5G data plan and live in a 5G switched-on area, you can connect to 5G on the Pixel 7. That said, based on everything Google has told the world about Tensor G2, along with what we learned from testing the original Tensor chip inside the Pixel 6 series, and details that surfaced ahead of the Pixel 7's arrival, it doesn't have the raw power to match phones powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip, such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
