Palm Beach is the story of a couple (Rebecca and Mikey) that moves from New York to Palm Beach, Florida, after Mickey is offered a job running the household of a wealthy man. He is described as a native of New York, who moves to Palm Beach and joins its police department to deal with criminals, murderers, and other culprits.

She’s a journalist and he’s a musical theater actor who experienced a vocal cord injury that ended his career. After spending several months on petty crimes, Charlie gets his big break when he is the first one to arrive and witness a victim hanging from a tree. Married couple Rebecca and Mickey are thirtysomething New Yorkers, struggling to make ends meet after the arrival of their newborn son. But after the arrival of their baby son, the couple decides to pack up and head for sunny, comfortable Palm Beach, where Mickey’s been offered a sweet deal managing the household of a multimillionaire Democratic donor. After dealing with several petty criminals, he gets his first big case of a murder mystery in which the prime suspect is a billionaire.I thought the author did a great job in making all characters interesting and memorable, even those who just popped in for dinner! Not super nuanced or very political but better than I've seen in many books and felt realistic without being preachy.

At first, I thought this was another ho-hum plot and cast of characters, as Adkins goes out of her way in the beginning to describe everyone in a somewhat stereotypical manner in relation to class, gender roles, politics, etc.And when a medical crisis hits, it’s the Stones who come to their rescue, using their power, influence, and wealth to avert catastrophe. Whenever she was looking for a home in a different area, she always gravitated towards the white house. With a love for interiors and a talent for creating warm, inviting spaces, Aerin’s elegant, effortless aesthetic is a reflection of her unique upbringing.

Taken her strong ideals seriously, and been rather vocal, as a journalist shes written article upon article about the wealth divides. So far, Turner has successfully completed 7 novels set in Palm Beach, all of which are widely popular.

I loved this contemporary fiction about wealth and class, truth and lies, corruption, young parents… Mickey, a Broadway singer whose career has been sidelined and who has been hired as a House Manager/caterer for a billionaire, and Rebecca, his vegan wife who is a freelance journalist writing about wealth and class, move to Palm Beach from NYC for Mickey’s job with their 8 month old son and for the first time—in their mid-30s, they have enough money for extra purchases and savings, and space to breath.
