About this deal

In the black and white picture, the then-Princess stood alongside Princess Margaret and another girl and Royal School head Hubert Tannar, all preparing for a Christmas pantomime of Aladdin. King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort were also in attendance along with other royals including the Countess of Wessex.

The service was led by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle, who welcomed the congregation to the Abbey. Princess Charlotte stole the show last night as the animated young royal enjoyed the Christmas magic at the carol service hosted by her mother, the Princess of Wales. Two of the Prince and Princess of Wales' children were in attendance at the concert, with their youngest, the famously cheeky Prince Louis, absent from the event. It was narrated by Catherine Zeta-Jones, and features tributes to Her Majesty The Queen and short films highlighting individuals who go above and beyond to support others. The young princess was the spitting image of her mother, who also wore a sleek burgundy coat for the occasion, which she paired with elegant heels. The Princess of Wales tonight shared a rare image of Queen Elizabeth as a young girl preparing for a Christmas panto, revealing her own children inherited Her Majesty's love of 'putting on little shows'. The 'Together at Christmas' carol concert aired on the United Kingdom's ITV on the night of Christmas Eve, local time, after being recorded earlier in the month.

This year, the Princess invited hundreds of 'inspiring individuals' to the service to recognise their contributions up and down the country. So, whilst Christmas will feel very different this year, we can still remember the memories and traditions we shared. Messages from celebrities including Dame Judi Dench, Ashley Banjo and Martin Kemp were also included in the show, which was broadcast on ITV. The royal couple were joined at the service by two of their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The princess said the carols service was dedicated to Her Majesty "and to all those who are sadly no longer with us". The young princess was seen at one point showing her delight after it was revealed actor Hugh Bonneville was going to be reading an extract from Paddington's Christmas Post.
