I rated this book 4 stars because I feel that this book may be long winded for some children causing them to lose interest. This story is wonderful and uplifting about Bramwell, Little Bear, Rabbit and Duck conducting a rescue mission to save Old Bear from the attic. Bramwell Brown and his friends Little Bear, Duck and Rabbit attempt to rescue Old Bear from the attic using a number of ingenious methods. The toys dream up lots of ingenious ways of mending the hole, but nothing really works until Little Bear finds a solution quite by chance. In the end the toys find that something Bramwell has been knitting all week turns out to be the perfect present for their new playmate.But I plan on reading it again and hope that this will be a cherished book for them just as it was for me when I was their age. However, while he is waiting, Bramwell Brown finds a way that they can help Little Bear make an instant tree that will really surprise Old Bear. Overall, I think the book is engaging with large pictures on one side of the page corresponding with the story so children are able to visualise what is going on so I think its a good book to have within the classroom. This captivating tale is one of friendship, love and fun that will delight as many children of today as it did myself in the nineties till now. Jane Hissey is not only a great storyteller full of creativity, imagination and originality but an accomplished artist whose stunning illustrations adorn each page of this wonderful book.

A blast from the past for the toys any adult can appreciate and a fun, imaginative story for the kids to enjoy. We,ll never be able to rescue Old Bear and he,ll be stuck up there getting lonelier and lonelier for ever and ever.Describes a book or dust jacket that does show some signs of wear on either the binding, dust jacket or pages. It requires a great deal of creativity, problem solving and determination to implement a successful plan. He likes to look after all the other toys and loves reading them a bedtime story at the end of the day.
