About this deal

When you pick them up for the first time, I bet you will be surprised at how little these headphones weigh. Artists sound slightly in front of you, displaying medium width and depth of equal scale, which is excellent for closed-back headphones. Its attractive packaging and as such, they are perfect for giving as a gift for birthdays and holidays. The headphones themselves feature CNC-carved walnut cups, with this particular model featuring a dark, ashen wood tone that is darker compared to the original Meze 99 Classics. Though most people seem to love the sound of the near-identical Meze 99 Classics, a few people find it to be really off-putting.

I won't say they are bass canons because they are not, but they provide the sufficient quantity to match almost any music genre. Almost 8 years have passed since 2015, in the meantime, in 2018 Meze released Empyrean, which maybe wasn’t considered as a best sounding flagship headphone, but damn, the build quality just crushed any other flagships. m) one with TRRS connector and a remote and microphone on it, so that one can use the 99 Classics with a mobile phone; the other one has a TRS connector and is 3 m long. The first coil is positioned in the upper part of the driver and the second one is placed directly over the ear canal entry, enabling more direct sound waves to enter the ear. The Meze 99 Classics isn’t a Bluetooth headset, so if you’re looking for a wireless option you’ll have to look somewhere else. The meze has a more forgiving and relaxed bass, more rounded but again nothing super articulate or speedy. If you’re looking for parametric filters, you’re going to have a rough time boosting the underemphasis between 1-3kHz, as it will require some hefty gain close to the cuts you’ll be making. AKG are nice headphones as well, I’ve had AKG 701’s, similar to Beyer 990, a bit smoother and more airy maybe, also light and comfortable but build quality was less in my experience. The 99 Classics are no slouches either, their crispness up top helping them sound balanced and snappy. A thing worth mentioning is that till the end of September (2022) you can get Meze Liric with a good quality premium Meze cable for free. Comfort is a very subjective matter, but if my experience is of any indication the 99 Classics are really comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. headphones are rarely this good, especially when you consider their remarkable build quality and comfort.
