I really liked both characters and their friend group, but for some reason this one was just missing something for me. I����ve never been interested in dating, not when all of my spare time is spent at the rink perfecting my craft. I don’t normally read sports romances, this is the first one I’ve read in my entire life, and I think there couldn’t have been a more perfect introduction to the subgenre! If you enjoy reading books featuring a strong female lead character with a dirty talking boxer, “give no shit attitude”, family dramas, adorable friendships, love, banter, sexy scenes, and tons of hot smuts, then Craving the Player is highly recommended. Still, there are times when the darkness shadows the light, and you fall back into the pit of despair that you’ve only recently climbed out of.She only has her eyes set on getting a very much-deserved promotion at work; to her, the promotion is a straightforward plan. He now works to ensure that his image and career aren’t compromised and is willing to do anything and everything, that includes fake dating his childhood friend, who he has never spoken to or seen for the past eight years.

Oakley wasn't the normal captain of the hockey team that sleeps around 24/7 and Octavia was so so so strong and independent which I loved. Octavia Layton , the girl unable to move beyond her broken past, fearful of her childhood betrayal following her through her new adult life.We met when I had puffy eyes and a broken heart, but I didn’t know who he was until he shows up in my city months later as a new member of our local hockey team. There relationship was very comforting to read and the drama with Octavia’s Mom was so emotionally charged. You will love their banter, angst, push and pull and how they supported each other and wanted love and happiness, but deep down, they know they were just the endgame for each other.

But they could have spotted a few fleas BEFORE you released the book and helped strengthen your story. I’ve learned that the bad doesn’t necessarily disappear once you’ve become accustomed to the good, but it sure does help drown it out. This has became one of my favourite books now and it deserves more recognition (honestly this is so underrated). But dating a future NHL player isn’t the life I imagined for myself, and as things keep going wrong, I’m starting to wonder if maybe the best made plans aren’t always the ones you expect.Very well written and I could picture the characters standing right in front of me, they were depicted so incredibly well! But when she gets dragged into meeting the overly-confident new hockey star in town, it seems like things might just be about to change. Then the end up in the same friend group a few months later and slowly get to know each other better and fall into an easy friendship. As a fan of the WHL, I really enjoyed reading a hockey romance that showcases this level of the game.

there was SO much miscommunication between the two mcs, there was barely any chemistry, both of them were so annoying and the plot was nowhere to be seen. I couldn’t put it down (I think I read it in one or two sittings max) and it was such a sweet surprise. I like the concept but I think how to put it best that I saw on another review is its a little too insta love for me. I never expected to see her again, but now she’s here in this new city, with ties to my new team, and I don’t think I’m strong enough to fight against her pull.

But after sending a one-night stand entangled in Braden’s sheets, the two will find it harder to continue living their normal lives. I love how she was able to have a mature conversation with Oakley instead of going off the rails and assuming the worst like we often see.
