About this deal

I must admit it took a while to get used to but when you do it works so well and makes the story so much more interesting. Having grown up forging an unbreakable bond built on trust, shared dreams and a deep understanding and appreciation of each other’s peccadillos, the friends together agree to leave their dull, suburban English lives behind for the bright lights and possibilities that Boston has to offer. I have a week spot for best friends turn lovers books and after a friend recommended me this one, I was very curious to read it.

But, as time passes and they grow up becoming teenagers, their priorities will change as well, leaving to them having different paths. Y me frustraba todo el tiempo que transcurría y ellos lo perdían estando separados, en silencio, soportando los infortunios de la vida solos. It ends with Rosie just hearing Alex's voice and telling us that it was one that she has known for all her life. She didn’t realize that she spent all that time reading and only came to her senses when someone rang the bell on the counter of her bed and breakfast.

While the book ends around the age of 50 and them FINALLY coming together to admit their love for one another, the movie adjusts it to about 30.

I don't want to say it was a waste of my time because it was enjoyable at points but I just wish it was better since I don't read contemporary novels often so I went out on a whim with this one and was disappointed. The worst thing about Love, Rosie was the way that Alex treated women all the way through this book. It was really fun, actually, even though I may have cried a little at the beginning (I know, SO NOT ME).I had read The Boy Next Door by Meg Cabot which was written in a similar style and stilled loved the story. But aided by a perfectly 2000s pop soundtrack, the gentle direction of Christian Ditter and the dynamics of the core relationship keep the story’s sincerity in sharp focus. Este libro es sobre la caótica vida de Rosie Dunne y su mejor amigo Alex; de sus idas y vueltas, sus altibajos.
