About this deal

By the end of the stage, you will get a nearly finished hull with completed landing gear, rear ramp, and cockpit. This Technic set known as the42113 Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey was supposed to begin sales on the 1 st of August.

I then read a post on Facebook by Kenneth who said that he moved the gears to the other side of the yellow 'biscuit' that you can see above, and supported them more securely, which fixed it for him. Thanks to these fans, the building instructions have appeared online and are now also available for you to download. They have a technical flaw and nobody saw it and they manufactured the building instructions and packed and shipped the boxes to some early retailers. They’ve toed the line with some sets that are clearly based on actual military hardware, though modified and depicted in non-military roles. That means it does include the parts in Orange exclusive to this set, but those parts are listed in Red.

The German Peace Society organized a petition to halt LEGO’s production, and combined with broader questions from the LEGO fan community over LEGO’s licensing of this military aircraft, LEGO has today made the decision to halt rollout of the set. People prefer to choose to be confused between 2 reasons (both shameful) for not having this set from LEGO. I’d been looking forward to the next big Technic helicopter, since I missed the 2012 and 2016 models. Lego has issued fixes for design flaws like this before—scrubbing the set entirely is a less precedented course of action and likely wouldn't have been undertaken for a reason that easily resolved.

The way the gearbox has been designed makes it possible to channel power to all four movements at once, although everything pretty much grinds to a halt if you do so. It will be interesting to see what LEGO offers in the form of a service pack to resolve the issue, as just replacing two 8-tooth cog wheels will potentially result in the same issue occurring! How does that passes the first stage and make it into production, is even more of a glaring concern compared to the design flaw described here.I suspect the fix only partly addresses the root cause of the problem and that damage is likely to still be possible should too many functions be enabled at once, or if the motor is switched on with the gearbox engaged. Note that I also have a Fokker Dr1 Dreidekker and two *different* Sopwith Camels, all of which are complete in military colours and markings.

Some smaller retailers have even listed the set on their webpages, making them available for purchase, allowing a small number of them into the wild. There are two outputs and two independent switches which can be operated via a pin hole at the top or an axle hole on the side. I find it hard to see why this was the reason - Lego have a history of themed sets with military connotations as well as other 'adult' themes - James Bond uses guns and sleeps with women and still the DB5 was released. The first thing I tried was to replace them with bushes and elastic bands but it did not transfer enough torque so it didn't work. He said that, due to the funky weather they have in Anchorage, it wasn't uncommon for a military flight to be forced to divert across town to Anchorage International Airport, or for a civilian flight to have to divert to Elmendorf, just because visibility could be just enough better a couple miles away that you could safely land. Once again, I particularly appreciate the fact that there are very few System elements in it, they are used only at the back of the engines. What is is sure is that in a couple of years all parts will become available in other sets and in more colors: specially the dumb battery box.

The actual Osprey rotors are also too large for having horizontal when landed, but as this is a kids toy they must expect that eventually someone will turn the motor on with the engines horizontal and should either have mounted higher up or smaller rotors but I guess they didn't want it looking like the previous 42025 cargo plane. Also, if the fix was this simple, I would think that would put the nail in the coffin of the absurd theory that this was the reason for the cancellation in the first place. In between last week, LEGO made it public that one of its upcoming Technic sets had to get canceled because of how it was associated with the military. Yes that is certainly possible but I don't think they will move any more than the original trio can. The ramp at the rear is a little bit complicated and it is moved using an actuator that isn’t large.I'm sure it went like this: "I think this gear is just too small; people are going to constantly complain that they break.
