The abbey of Leffe was founded in 1152 on the river Meuse in the province of Namur in southern Belgium. Belgian brewery Leffe meets red fruit to give us a ruddy amber beer topped by a beautiful off-white head. Perfect to enhance the taste of: Strong-flavored first courses, gourmet pizzas, mixed fried foods, red meats, shellfish, aged or smoked semi-hard cheeses, cheesecakes, desserts with cream or chocolate. Leffe Ruby is a ruby red, refreshing beer born of the unique combination of the abbey beer, a soft note of wood and the delicate aroma of red forest fruits. Beer Description: Leffe Ruby is made from the typical flavours of the Abbey Leffe beer and red forest fruits, which gives it its colour. The abbey has been damaged by both natural and human circumstances over the years: the Meuse river flooded the brewery in 1460, and six years later a fire damaged the abbey, but by the 17th century it prospered. The Abbaye de Leffe brewery is located in the small town of Dinant, Belgium, and is famous for its iconic Leffe beer. Like many monasteries across Europe, the Premonstratensian (Norbertine) canons of the Notre-Dame de Leffe abbey [ fr] brewed ale, starting in 1240.
