When I first saw it in the theater (projected in 70 mm film at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood), the sound quality was terrible. If you thought Inception delivered some visionary set-pieces in terms of scale and ambition, Interstellar will blow your mind; it's a visionary work of frequently opulent majesty.Whether it be the countdown to take-off as Coop is driving away from the farm, or - much more importantly - Michael Caine's pivotal revelations, both of which are completely smothered by the overwhelming score. dba Freestar (“Freestar”) for the purposes of placing certain advertising on the site, and Freestar will collect and use certain data for advertising purposes. But the HDR lends this image a lovely degree of naturalism and immersion that you just have to see to fully appreciate.

After 'Interstellar's initial release, much was made about the decision – which turned out to be a conscience one – to have Hans Zimmer's score at times drown out the movie's dialogue. The set has enough supplements to warrant a purchase and delivers the goods on every level, not to mention that the video has been improved (I’d not thought it possible) from the Blu-ray which is also included.

You see this in the blue and dust-filled skies of Earth, in the clouds of Saturn, in the rippling “surface” of the wormhole and the bulk as the Endurance passes through it, in the accretion disk of Gargantua, in the icy surface of Mann’s planet, and in countless other details in almost every frame.

The experience begins with The Science of Interstellar TV special (50:20), which is narrated by McConaughy (some of you may have seen it on the Science Channel). Interstellar” arrives without the prelude of major spoilers -- a credit to the production, which managed to preserve many of the feature’s secrets before release. Celestial Landmarks—Explore how the filmmakers used practical special effects informed by real scientific equations to give the illusion of real space travel for both the actors and the audience. Next up is the 14-part Inside Interstellar documentary, which offers 122 minutes worth of behind-the-scenes material on the film’s production.

The score is amazing, and utterly immersive, and clearly Nolan doesn't particularly care if we miss these words as three cinema trips left me oblivious as to what was actually said until finally the Blu-ray's subtitles revealed the hidden unimportant - and arguably very important - words. While I personally found the sheer loudness of Zimmer's score to be irritating in the theater, I found that my home viewing experience was much better. To go into full detail about all the nuances would take forever and I certainly don’t want to spoil the plot for those that haven’t seen it.
