Philbrick was Brown’s first Intercollegiate All-American sailor in 1978; that year he won the Sunfish North Americans in Barrington, RI; today he and his wife Melissa sail their Beetle Cat Clio and their Tiffany Jane 34 Marie-J in the waters surrounding Nantucket Island. Carrick has always been a problematic meddler and I like the confirmation that he's flawed in more than just surface characteristics. I love how effortlessly Nora Roberts sets up her stories and how different each set of characters is from the previous one. When I decided to give up a well-paid job in industry to try my hand as an author, there was only one genre for me.
