About this deal

Team Margot Stem Cell and Bone Marrow Awareness Day will assist in the endeavours to educate the public and hopefully encourage donors, from all ethnic groups, to step forward all over the world. This is such a sweet picturebook and a very good introduction to the damage we place on the creatures of Earth with our waste. With a brief writing style and evocative illustrations, this is a simple story that conveys an important message of environmentalism and the need to clean up the oceans.

Team Margot also provides secretariat support to the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Ethnicity Transplantation and Transfusion. It's a cool message about the whole ocean plastic issue, which we all need to be aware of, but I was expecting a bit more depth in the plot. She said her pink bunny was 'soft and cuddly' and her ballerina toy has 'shiny shoes and a sparkly tutu'.As a society, we need to do better about plastic waste and actually throwing away trash where it goes, which is a trash can or a dumpster. While the effects on the whale could be scary, there is a rapid resolution with a message of cleaning up the trash that will resonate with young readers. As you re read the story together, encourage children to join in with the repeated phrases and follow the words on the page.

Margot’s legacy inspired an incredible number of people to become lifesaving stem cell donors all over the world, and we are looking forward to recruiting the next generation of lifesavers on 7th October at donor recruitment events in Margot’s name.

TI VOGLIO BENE, BLU è una storia illustrata bellissima, piena di amore e dolcezza, ideale per parlare di amicizia ma soprattutto di inquinamento dei nostri mari e salvaguardia del mondo marino. ps incidentally, this book initially arrived at our home amongst a flurry of other generous gifts and unfortunately, we don’t know who originally sent it to us.

I thought the book was really fascinating as the kangaroo was always left out because Lily always got new teddy's and then she loved them more. I mean, Blue saves the day by rescuing the boat from a raging storm, and then the boy turns superhero by pulling out all those plastic bags from Blue's belly. Children can make a simple stick puppet using a kangaroo template to retell the story from Blue Kangaroo’s point of view. The book offers many opportunities for children to think and talk about their own favourite toys and how they feel about them.

This simple story with water-colored illustrations teaches us the impact pollution has on the ocean and its inhabitants. This books is a wonderful way to introduce this concept of saving the whales and the oceans, caring for the environment, cleaning up beaches, reducing plastic waste and instilling a deep love for the sea. is a story of a child and her favourite toy which makes connections to all kinds of childhood relationships, (with parents, siblings and friends) as Lily experiences feelings of affection, jealousy and sibling rivalry. At the time, we were struck by how little awareness there was around stem cell transplants and there was an absence of another day like it. That’s why we’re so delighted that Team Margot are about to launch their first International Stem Cell and Bone Marrow Awareness Day.Just start with one thing, drinking water from reusable containers, and you are already making a difference. Turns out that Blue swallowed a tummy full of plastic (a breakaway from the Pacific trash vortex, maybe?
