About this deal

DTS Virtual X - Enjoy an immersive audio without the need for height speakers, the bass perception engages you into the center of a performance. Any questions or requests for service relating to such Smart Services should be made directly to the respective third party Smart Services providers, and not to us. The Hisense has a few more features like the ability to remove judder from 24p sources and display chroma 4:4:4, which the Toshiba can't do. Similarly, the Vidaa U5 smart platform does the job (although you might well want to add a separate streaming stick for more options at some point), and having Freeview Play onboard means you’ll not be short of catch-up telly.

So, with a Netflix stream of the Dolby Vision-assisted The Trial of the Chicago Seven incoming, the A6G ought to be able to give its best shot.

All Smart Services accessible through this Device may be changed, suspended, removed, terminated or interrupted, or access may be denied, blocked or disabled at any time, without notice, and we make no representations or warranties that any Smart Services will remain available for any period of time. It’s a case of déjà vu with the A7G, which looks exactly like the U7Q – good in some ways, not so good in others.

Having looked at the 55-inch model, we’ve lassoed Hisense’s 65-inch flagship ahead of the 2021 TV range being released. The app selection is focused rather than bountiful; Netflix has pride of place on the top row and all the UK catch-up apps are covered (as Freeview Play), with Disney+ and Britbox available also. Its upscaling is solid, its HDR performance can impress, and it offers plenty of value – but its larger size highlights several picture issues. The U6G uses a VA panel, resulting in much better contrast and better black uniformity, making it the better choice for a dark room. Only a couple of the ‘big 5’ TV brands we mentioned earlier can match this Hisense when it comes to HDR compatibility: the A6G covers HLG, HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision – which we can all agree is pretty decent at any money. All the buttons are present and correct, including direct access to Netflix, YouTube, Rakuten TV, Prime Video and Freeview Play.
