Trebles are a touch muddled, and nothing is quite as revolutionary as with more expensive buds – spending a little more on the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 Plus will open up more from your music, no question. During testing, I was able to get around 6 to 6 1/2 hours of playback before needing to charge them. The EarFun Air have touch controls that are a little finicky but with highly effective in-ear detection, you can at least avoid using the controls too often.

Flipping the EarFun Air earbuds around and you’ll see an “L” and an “R” for which ear to place them in. When it comes to charging the case or earbuds back up, it takes about an hour-and-a-half to charge the earbuds, about two hours to charge the case via Type-C, or about three-and-a-half hours if you’re going to be wirelessly charging. Something I ran into was the earbuds don’t seem to be as sensitive as you think when it comes to the touchpad. Throughout Eurythmics’ Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This), Annie Lennox’s lead and backing vocals are central, with due diligence paid to each musical strand as the Earfun Air headphones positively revel in the synth-heavy juiciness of the track.The top of the EarFun Air’s Charging Case has a subdued “earfun” logo, and the Charging Case’s bottom has a USB-C port that can be used to charge the Charging Case. Considering you'll get excellent audio here, decent battery life and an app we enjoyed using, the Cambridge Audio Melomania 1 Plus are fantastic all-rounders and great value. Starting from the outside, the case is light and slim with a nice design distinguished by a subtle dip of the top surface extending down the sides in a subtle curve. When the included USB-C cable is plugged in, EarFun Air’s Charging Case’s tiny LED on its front pulsates red to indicate that the case’s internal battery is charging. For casual listeners looking for a cheap pair of earbuds, and without high expectations, they entertain – although that comes with the usual cheap true wireless caveats.

With noise-cancelling deployed, low-level constant noises such as the hum of the washing machine are significantly diminished. The Earfun Air Pro’s cool black plastic case is pocketable, portable and doesn’t collect fingerprint smudges. USB-C and wireless charging are both supported here with the former proving faster and the latter being more convenient. EarFun was established in 2018 by an experienced group of industrial designers, acoustic engineers and music enthusiasts who shared the goal of creating next-generation wireless audio devices.
