But things don’t go to plan and one of his new friends ends up dead and his life is also on the line.As you know I’m always on the lookout for debut Crime Novels and when I saw Death Under A Little Sky, I was immediately drawn in by the beautiful cover and the premise.

There is a nice concept here, the detective living virtually off-grid in a house not accessible by road, the cast of locals with secrets etc. Second in the military crime series featuring Special Agents Scott Brodie and Magnolia "Maggie" Taylor, after The Deserter (2019).No school and not much of anything else, while Jake's new house has a magnificent library and a lake, but no bathroom or washing machine. Abell’s enjoyment of the genre shines through, as Jake ponders what the likes of Jack Reacher might do in a messy situation, and as he and Livia team up to investigate, becoming “Jackson and Bennet, the crime-fighters of Little Sky”, another of crime fiction’s detective duos.

I really enjoyed Death Under A Little Sky, it is a very accomplished well written thriller and was refreshingly different to the norm.In eerste instantie tast hij volledig in het duister, dus hij zal het over een andere boeg moeten gooien. It’s not long before he finds that a woman died in the small village a decade earlier under mysterious circumstances.
