Cypress Hill have collaborated with a few producers over the years, but Back In Black is their first album to feature no input from sonic advisor and lifelong alumnus DJ Muggs. Songs like “Cock the Hammer”, “I Ain’t Goin’ Out Like That” and “Lick a Shot” are frenetic party anthems, while the simmering grooves of “3 Lil’ Putos” and “What Go Around Come Around, Kid” strike a low-key pose of gangsta cool. He doesn’t seem to be liked very much, but in the US we’ve also got politicians that no one likes – and a couple that people like too much.
