About this deal

The ska-pop of Madness was never really my thing (sorry UK - maybe I don't have that island-wave-feeling πŸ˜‰) - but I think β€œIt Must Be Love” is an incredibly good song (but one or the other song also has its own Charm and fun, too -II*πŸ˜‰), which is why I bought this compilation. The discography of Madness, a British pop/ ska band, comprises twelve studio albums, sixteen compilation albums, four live albums, two soundtrack albums, two extended plays, four box sets and forty-three singles. a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z aa ab ac ad ae af ag "British certifications – Madness".

Madness – Complete Madness (1982, Gatefold, Vinyl) - Discogs

A great compilation of their earlier work, this is a band which I honestly only knew from "Our House" so it's a bit of a revelation to listen to a greatest hits album from before that song was released. Matrix / Runout (Runout, side A, stamped, variant 3): HIT - TV - 1 - A 7 ARE YOU SITTING COMFORTABLY ? Madness_ is a good album but it's not a complete 'best of' ("Our House" and "Driving In My Car" are notable omissions). It was released in 1982 and included Madness' biggest hits from their first three studio albums and the stand-alone singles. The original Australian version of the album, issued some months later than in the UK, replaces In the City with 13th UK single Driving in My Car.

Vote up content that is on-topic, within the rules/guidelines, and will likely stay relevant long-term. An accompanying video cassette was also released, containing all thirteen of the group's music videos up to that point (the twelve UK singles plus Bed and Breakfast Man, which was a single in Canada), with specially filmed introductions to each video, together with the car commercials the band had done for Honda in Japan. But these arent shallow feel good tracks , much of the lyrics have an almost ray davies type clarity to the writing whether the topic be childhood, depression, teenage pregnancy or heart attacks .

Madness – Complete Madness (2014, Black, Vinyl) - Discogs

This compilation includes the original 7-inch single mixes of most tracks ( House of Fun being an exception). I saw Madness performing on Jools Holland, got this for my birthday and I'm pretty sure I never stopped listening to it for the next couple of years.Sometimes music can bridge the gap between youth and maturity but for some reason this band doesnt for me . The songs are all pretty great and have stood the test of time very well , bringing back lots of memories . Maybe im just too old and serious now but i find it hard to listen to it all in one sitting , maybe my tastes are just a bit too different from when i was 15 now , or maybe ive just heard too many different musics that are more appealing to me now , so while i endorse how great they are, as a near 40 year old man i cant quite bring myself to reach for it often . And even with hits like Our House, Tomorrow's Just Another Day and Michael Caine still in the future (and eventually included on the companion volume "Utter Madness" four years later) it's such a top-notch compilation that it's hard to argue with.

Released in 1982 when Madness were at the peak of their creative and commercial powers, this collection contains all their hits up to that point, plus a handful of non-single cuts. Note to Sellers: These limited edition 'red vinyl' editions sold out almost instantly in 2013 and were re-pressed in black vinyl in 2014. Everyone loved madness when i was at school and this classic collection of ska pop singles shows why they were a no 1 band . Unless it is unsealed and you can see the disc to prove otherwise, the LP you are selling will be the black vinyl edition. The vinyl and initial CD releases have shortened fade-outs for many tracks, to reduce the running time of each side of the original LP version. Matrix / Runout (Runout, side A, etched/stamped, variant 2): HIT - TV - 1 - A - 7 ARE YOU SITTING COMFORTABLY ? Best tracks: "My Girl", "Baggy Trousers", "It Must Be Love", "House Of Fun", "One Step Beyond" and "Cardiac Arrest". Mostly the lyrics are very clever, brilliantly delivered by McPherson and accompanied by energetic music (which can get a bit repetitive after a few listens).
