Unlike the previous cross-gen titles, Modern Warfare II offers no standard editions for the eighth generation consoles, but only a cross-gen edition for all platforms, in addition to the Vault Edition. Modern Warfare II is muddled and occasionally underwhelming, but at its core, it has enough going on that it can ride out the year (or more) until the next cycle begins. The emphasis on stealth demands your attention, and I really enjoyed creating smoke bombs to confuse enemies and sneak on by, undetected.

Infinity Ward brings state-of-the-art gameplay, with all-new gun handling, a new Gunsmith and a suite of other gameplay and graphical innovations that elevate the franchise to new heights. Surely even if the game is good and looks amazing they are just using the name for a cash grab instead of naming it modernware 3 or 4. what maybe madden and fortnite and their "video" collection serving as the closest thing they'll ever have to intimacy?

Vanguard, aside from its general issues early on, was too much of a departure, and while Modern Warfare II is naturally a bit closer in style to Cold War, it can’t quite seem to decide what pace it should be keeping. The gang’s all here, ready to take up absurd amounts of space on your PS5 SSD with bombastic explosions and grand conspiracies. Overall, the advances in tech for Modern Warfare 2 are perhaps less revolutionary than the first 2019 reboot. The aforementioned swirls of dust, smoke, and gunfire don’t help with making things clear, with certain maps really suffering from the debris floating about when it comes to identifying enemies quickly.

Comparisons between the big three consoles - PS5, Series X and S - are something of a footnote at this point.With tables connecting families of guns together and difficult-to-spot text prompts describing what you must do to unlock attachments, it can appear a much more difficult and confusing task to get the loadout you want than it really is. Other than that, digital simply has no place and is being sold to you, the fool, by snake oil salesmen. Few missions actually favoured a specific gun type – with Recon by Fire being the biggest outlier as it places a greater emphasis on sniping – which did make every gun feel a little interchangeable, but never to the point where I stopped picking up new weapons from fallen enemies.

From a visual standpoint, all three are very robust though, but the more powerful machines deliver more stability and improved image quality.world at war introduced the zombie mode and it worked because of the history the nazis had in dabbling with the occult etc so it fitted as a novelty arcade shooter but subsequent versions got overly complicated and almost impossible to fathom out. You won't get quite the same level of graphical quality when you have to contend with internet connections, but that gritty nature carries over into the multiplayer.
