About this deal

Flash power can now be controlled by 1/10 increments and minimum power is now 1/256 rather than 1/128 on the original Godox AD200.

It’s just much easier to carry the Godox AD200 with the Maggrid and Magsphere around than a giant softbox on a pole. The PIKA200 Pro Studio Flash Gun features a 200W flash tube with a 9-Stop Power Range, meaning it can be turned down as low as 1/256 of its full power. The AD series is not to be confused with a traditional speedlite unit that can be mounted on a camera hotshoe. Switching to the Fresnel head provides more intense, focused light, which I’ve used to pull down the amount of ambient light in the scene and allow the subject to be strobed in a more dramatic (but visually appealing) style. You can easily mount it to the flash unit on two different sides so that the AD200 can be setup in either a horizontal or vertical position. Learn How to Stop Hating Your Own Portrait and Serve Your Subjects a Great Experience It’s time to stop hating your own portrait. The bare bulb head features a removable flash tube and produces 360 degrees of soft, bright, nearly shadowless light. This is not really an issue wedding photographers will care about but if you are a studio/commercial photographer then this could be a feature you want to pay for.

And more recently for a destination wedding where I opted to take the AD-S7 softbox due to its small, portable size. Other than the sticker on the unit, there is ZERO difference between the Adorama Flashpoint eVolv 200, the Pixapro Pika 200 and the Godox AD200. Please Note: The PIKA200 Pro is backward-compatible with all of the original PIKA200 Heads, Modifiers, and Accessories.Simply because I worry that in a few years time, it will be harder to sell a Pixapro Pika200 than a Godox AD200. The official GN number is 52 whilst the bare bulb head using the standard AD-S2 reflector is rated at 60 at 28mm. There’s plenty of power on tap here to overpower the sun (my subject is strongly backlit by the sun in this shot). This is a big improvement and had this been on the original AD200, I would have never have bought the Magshoe’s!
