About this deal

Think about WHAT as well as HOW the market will receive your book: it’s important you consider current trends and engage those who simply know better than you; my 18-year-old daughter for instance shaped the ‘social media’ content and context within the handbook and is now managing our social media marketing! We try our best to select the best titles available and only work with the most reputable publishers, who in turn work with notable scholars. The handbook adopts a tree diagram and a traffic light system, which makes the content easy to digest.

If you are still wondering how to get free PDF of book A Handbook of Spiritual Medicine by Ibn Daud.I took my time reading it making sure I self reflect – this book has helped on realising what I need to work on and also the importance of self purification. Accordingly, to understand the full or intended meaning of the word or the verse, Muhsin Khan’s translation has also been included in this edition.

Stick to what you know best:you’ll need a team of good people working alongside you doing what they do best (editing, designing, referencing, and consultation/guidance as and when). The antidotes to our ailments are drawn from Qur’ānic verses and authentic ahādīth (Prophetic sayings), inspiring mindfulness of the Almighty Cherisher and His Beloved Prophet. Not only does it illustrate the maladies of the human spiritual condition, it recognizes the struggles and insecurities we all succumb to from time to time, and offers up the remedies too. Its tabular design and colorful traffic light approach make it easy to reference for a new generation. The importance of spiritual wayfaring cannot be emphasised enough, particularly in our times where the material realm is emphasised as the only means to human happiness and progress. My journey to writing ‘A Handbook of Spiritual Medicine’ began almost 20 years ago at university, when I stumbled across ‘Purification of the Heart’ by Shaykh Hamza Yusuf Hanson. Roughly around the same time, towards the end of my MBA studies, I lived with a medic whose particular quirk was to reference the ‘Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine’ with zeal. As an avid book reader with an eagerness to learn more, she will love to educate the readers further from stories she finds.

The spiritual conditions highlighted are thoroughly and insightfully covered and are all fairly common with pitfalls we can all succumb to at some point within our lives, such as: envy, anger, miserliness, negative feelings and vanity. It is the memory of the practicality of this small book coupled with my long-term preoccupation with the concept of ‘self-purification’ which brings me to this point. After spending some time with this book, I was surprised that a similar format isn’t being more widely adopted as there is a clear gap in the market for a handbook on treating spiritual diseases. I pray Allāh ﷻ accepts the work of brother Jamal and makes it a means of attaining his everlasting pleasure. My most favourite element of the handbook was the sections highlighting the exceptions of each illness.

The presentation and layout employed in presenting the spiritual diseases and their remedies are highly effective and make this book comprehensible for the readers. Here is a quick description and cover image of book A Handbook of Spiritual Medicine written by Ibn Daud which was published in January 1, 2020. This work will enable the reader to self-analyse and assist him or herself in meeting their Creator with a 'sound heart'. As the book is presented in the style of a handbook, the intention isn’t to read the book all in one sitting.
