About this deal

was co-managed by Ric Dixon and Harvey Lisberg at Kennedy Street, who had represented the individual members of the band since the mid-1960s. I feel that nearly every track comments on capitalism, starting with it itself on a wall street shuffle, but commenting on it's effect on music biz (the worst band in the world ), imperialism (hotel, oh effendi, and hollywood with somewhere in hollywood). Naturally I own several variants from different countries and even different pressings for the original US and hands down think this double side Lee Hulko master is rivaled only by the 1st UK. But it's not just great lyrics about the systems that control us, and our responses to it, it's also just dripping with hooks, bizarre turns, kitsch, weird prog effects, etc.

It was released in 1974 on UK records (No: UKAL 1007), and yielded the hit singles " The Wall Street Shuffle" and " Silly Love". And maybe the point of being a meta anti-pop band is to be annoying, because hey, you're supposed to see that POP MUSIC IS ANNOYING, MAN!

I know, a lot coming from someone who was hoping for something Sparks-like, but I was surprised how most of the tracks here rarely followed a proper song structure, often doing whatever, whenever and only coming back to a recognizable motif when necessary. Sparks leans into their pop roots when riffing on pop tunes (usually in good fun), but 10cc dig into the genre, almost like going "neener neener" to the genre as a whole. The fifth single "Headline Hustler" was released only in the American market to promote a tour in the USA. Payment made to the UK in other currencies will be converted to pounds sterling at the exchange rate current on the day of the transaction. I often see 10cc compared to Zappa, the logic of course being that both of them were sort of thinking along the same lines - making some sort of meta anti-pop.

Billboard felt the band had a "certain zany feeling", but that "their songs are far from silly when carefully listened to" and they had "some of the most innovative vocal techniques and instrumental arrangements around".The album in its entirety along with 2000's bonus cuts appeared, along with 10cc's second album, " Sheet Music" and all its released bonus cuts, on 2004 10cc– The Complete UK Recordings, on Varèse Sarabande Records. the way i would describe 10cc is what would happen if Ween happened in the '70s, and thus a lot more cocainey, but still pleasantly weird.

This will give the paper a chance to lose some of its springiness and make it much easier for you to handle. Three of its four UK singles reached the Top 10 in the charts, including the Number One hit " Rubber Bullets", which also topped the chart in Australia. Or check out some Kate Bush or early Brian Eno if you want to hear a genre that's usually quite enjoyable done right. When even the closer "Oh Effendi," which is a surprisingly solid rocker, has an annoying glammy bridge, you know you're in trouble. the latter of which owns the 10cc composition) sued Universal Polygram International Publishing Inc.Kevin Godley, Graham Gouldman and Eric Stewart have subsequently referred to Sheet Music as 10cc's zenith throughout their career. This album is significant in that it produced our third number one record, Dreadlock Holiday, which also turned out to be our last hit.
