About this deal

According to LaRae Quy, a former counterintelligence agent for the FBI, “people have different quirks and patterns of behavior” and some of these behaviors “could simply be mannerisms”. How to Read People Like a Book is a compelling read that teaches you everything you need to learn about reading other people's body language, learning their motivations, and uncovering their true intentions so you can foster deeper, more authentic relationships - anytime, anywhere! Master the art of reading people like a book! It is quite well known among anyone remotely familiar with me that I enjoy reading books and that I have a great deal of interest in the problem of interpersonal communication [1]. This book is a particularly practical book, and an immensely worthwhile one for anyone who is a speaker or anyone who draws the sort of responses from other people that I have often done. It is a book on nonverbal communication, and is an attempt to help make people more responsive and observant to the tells of people's posture and gestures while it is still possible for someone to successfully navigate the stressful process of communicating with other people. To be sure, the book is written in such a way that the author draws a great deal of attention to his own success in teaching others how to be more observant and how it improved them--like all self-help books this one has a certain amount of salesmanship and gamesmanship about it. It is remarkable, given the extent to which communication is nonverbal, that we are often so unobservant about it, but at least I can say that I know a few people who are quite insightful about my body language and gestures, even if they are not the sort of people I would most wish to be able to read me like a book. Another study took this even further and compared speech characteristics to people’s Myers-Briggs Personality Type. They found a few more indicators:

Guess what? These type of people rely on others to boost their self-image. They want you to praise them so they will feel good about themselves. Decipher what people are truly saying and tell them exactly what they need to hear by learning what motivates them You will get a breakdown of all the ways you can develop the skills you need to speed-read people, uncover their true intentions, and - most importantly - make real connections. When we speak, we often move our heads in an expressive way. A study examined these movements and people’s emotions, and found:Another movement to notice is the crossing of arms or legs. If you see a person doing this, it suggests defensiveness, anger, or self-protection. Also, some findings suggest that perhaps psychological traits can – to some degree – be read on a person’s face. Psychologist Susan Krauss Whitbourne points out, “anxiety can translate very directly into an unconscious leg-shaking or foot-tapping.”

And if you tell a person that you are reading their body language, they’ll become conscious about it, and feel threatened.

Reading an article on how to read people is a great start, but it won’t make any difference unless you get out there and practice what you’ve learned. If you buy it today, it won’t take you more than 2 hours to finish this book, probably even lesser.
