My only real concern is the F.M. performance, it is far below average, and sounds hissy on most stations!. In this case, there is quite good treble in most directions and speech intelligibility is definitely better than we found with earlier Evoke models. There's also some good life and verve in music. I am very pleased with my Pure Evoke 2. I have owned it for between 1 and a half to 2 years. I couldn't decide for a while whether to get the Pure Evoke 1 or this one. I decided to get the Evoke 2 because of the fact it also had FM Reception on it so I could also listen to some good local stations that were not yet on DAB. I decided it would be a wise investment to buy some rechargeable batteries and on a full charge they will last between 8 and 10 hours.Receivers such as DAB/DAB+ digital radios or digital radio alarms decode the signals and convert them into audio signals that can be played via loudspeakers. Compared to FM, DAB+ offers better sound quality, more programme diversity, less disturbances, and at the same time more options for interaction, as they can receive text, images or even videos in addition to sound. We found this radio particularly successful with BBC Radio 3 on digital, the uncompressed sound coming across cleanly and pleasantly, while the high-frequency 'warbling' that tends to characterise DAB sound through true hi-fi equipment is much less noticeable when played through a table radio. Radio 4 also did well, as did some lighter-textured varieties of popular music broadcast on Radio 2. Pure offers a wide range of DAB/DAB+ radios with Bluetooth and portable radios with integrated or external battery operation and colour display. The only problem with the Pure Evoke 2 is that the batteries don't last too long. It would be more wise to either buy Rechargeable Batteries or just use the mains. The Evoke 2 uses 6 C Size Batteries.
