Overall, a decent-sounding movie, it's not flashy, and it's very simple. It doesn't need a Dolby Atmos upgrade because that's not the focus of the movie. The focus of the movie is right in front of the viewer. In some ways, I like that.

boost over the existing Blu-ray, which is included, though sans new transfer as initially advertised. The 2160p resolution offers a tangibly sharper The reason why I wanted to explain a little about the quality of the source material is that I think it's very important to how I and others review this movie. Likewise, I want to give others an idea of where I'm going with this thought. I'll list a few things that I noticed from the quality of the actual source. Quentin Tarantino’s first two films: Reservoir Dogs and now Pulp Fiction, have both benefitted from 4K releases. I had high hopes for this one, having just recently reviewed Reservoir Dogs and was blown away by the image. I’ll get this out of the way first – I did prefer the picture on Reservoir Dogs to this one, but that’s not to say that this one is bad – far from it, actually. This isn’t a night and day difference from the previously-released Blu-ray. In fact, most 4K movies aren’t. Rather, the 2.39:1 HEVC 4K image takes what was good and adds to it. Colors are more vibrant, detail has been increased and with the aid of HDR, many of the scenes have far better contrast. Given that this film was a higher profile movie than its predecessor, I’ve always found it an attractive-looking movie. The bottom line – was it worth the wait? I think it was and what we’ve got is the best this film has ever looked on any home video format. Audio: How does it sound?

format. Grain is present and very light: unobtrusive but flattering and filmic. The picture is also free of obvious encode flaws and print problems. right, but when looking at the grading directly compared to the old Blu-ray, the improvements are substantial. give this attire tactile depth and realism. Faces are likewise presented with newfound complexity, showing pores and hairs with razor-precise clarity, Paramount releases Pulp Fiction to the UHD format with a 2160p/Dolby Vision presentation. This hotly anticipated release will not be

Pulp Fiction makes its debut on 4K Ultra HD and it’s a must-buy for fans of the film. It looks and sounds fantastic, and Paramount tossed in a Blu-ray (unfortunately, it doesn’t feature the same newly remastered transfer), a digital code, and a big ol’ batch of bonus features from previous editions. Known for its relentlessly quotable dialogue - rich with razor-sharp wit and incessant pop culture references - for its iconic characters and unforgettable shots; and for its stunning blend of striking, unflinching violence, and ironic humour; for its non-linear narrative and the distinctive style pervading throughout, Pulp Fiction ushered in a new era of crime dramas, with endless imitators but no equals, even from Tarantino himself.Pulp Fiction has personality, and it's because of its film errors and film artifacts. Reservoir Dogs honestly doesn't have this. Sure, Reservoir Dogs is a cleaner-looking movie, but it doesn't have the personality that Pulp Fiction has. I'm not talking about the movie itself, this is all coming from the cameras themselves. I love both looks personally, and I like any format that is able to capture this process. Paramount has released the long-anticipated UHD for the classic 1994 film 'Pulp Fiction,' directed by Quentin Tarantino and starring John Travolta Writer-director Quentin Tarantino delivers an unforgettable cast of characters— including a pair of low-rent hit men (John Travolta and Samuel L.

The transfer is gorgeous. The movie has never looked this good ever on home video. I remember watching this on Laserdisc, I can still remember how it looks to this day. This 4K transfer is absolutely excellent! At no point does the film grain break up into digital noise. That's my biggest thing. Sure, we have analog artifacts from the camera, but please...I don't want the image to look digital. Thankfully, it doesn't. It looks like film. It looks analog, and that's a thing of beauty. When movies are bought to 4K Blu-ray, this is what I want. Minimal digital work done and allow this great format to capture that. We have that here with this transfer. all of the legacy extras from the 2011 Blu-ray. A Blu-ray copy is included, but even though Paramount's press Siskel & Ebert At the Movies: The Tarantino Generation– This segment focuses on the film at hand, obviously garnering praise from the two critics. Overall? Excellent transfer. You could say it's amazing with warts and all. As I said, I love its personality. Most reviewers I think will review this from a source perspective which is imperfect. It's rough around the edges. I'm reviewing it from the transfer perspective, and it's great. It's a job well done by Paramount. The HDR grading is excellently done, it makes a huge difference to have perfectly color-graded content. This is something the VHS, the LaserDisc, DVD, and Blu-ray simply cannot produce. There's camera ringing, and at times it's quite heavy. There's perspective distortion and lens distortion. Edges of shots curve. I think this is due to the lenses used, but if that's incorrect, please let me know in the comments. Also, with the camera ringing, there's also color bleeding. Film grain is light and very consistent apart from one scene.
