Unlike the 222, the 322GW is compatible with the add-on modules, including the rear camera, rear window camera and the cabin view camera. The internal hardware and software are where you’ll find the major differences as it’s the first in the series that features WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity, that’s where the GW comes from. This allows you to connect the 322GW to the MyNextbase Connect app and view your dashcam footage on your mobile phone. By comparison, the 222 dashcam requires you to take out the SD card and insert it into a laptop or PC. For the camera nerds, the 422GW has a better lens which has an f/1.3 aperture as opposed to f/1.6. Essentially, this means that more light enters the camera. That extra adjustment does have a big impact on the quality, especially under darker lighting. Next in the series 2 range is the 422GW. This dashcam doesn’t have a huge number of upgrades compared to the 322GW, however the one that does stand out is the camera quality. The GPS allows you to see where the footage was filmed which can be seen side by side with the footage itself, it also records speed which could help in any accidents or insurance claims.

On the Dash Cam's screen you'll see a menu of 3 options. Please select 'Mass Storage' on the Dash Cam screen and then OK so that only that displays on the screen. They follow the same pattern as the series 1 range, with 6 devices covering every segment of the market from the budget 122 up to the highest spec 622GW. Personally I like the 202lite the best as it can last for around 50 minutes on battery power when new and uncooked, so long as you are aware of the issues at least you know what to look out for, if it acts funny shutting down with funny screens battery is getting duff usually first sign. One thing that is better about the nextbase I found was they worked with ANY sd card, my F770 won't and thinkware don't make larger than 64GB!! The built-in G-sensor will allow the Dashcam to record any impacts or sudden course changes and the footage is automatically protected on the memory card. The built-in GPS allows for the vehicle's exact position and route to be recorded and a date and time stamp is also included in the recording to prevent any potential dispute in the event of an incident. However, you don't just have to rely on the G-sensor, you can also press a nice red button on the Dashcam to manually create a permanently saved event in a situation where something has happened in front of you. When a power source is connected the 312GW starts recording automatically, saving three-minute clips to a memory card up to 32GB – not included with the camera. The default mode is 1080P at 30fps and footage is very clear, even in fairly low light conditions, but if you want a higher frame rate the camera supports 720P at 60fps.

As is to be expected of Nextbase, the 312GW is nicely made, with a sturdy plastic structure and familiar rear button layout.
