About this deal

Chlorine granules are relatively easy to measure and apply. Simply measure out the required amount into a cap or measuring device and add to the water. If you are unsure of the correct amount, you can add chlorine little by little until you reach perfection.

In the event of spillage, clean up using clean receptacles and dispose of carefully. Do not add water to spilled materials. Do not use floor sweeping compounds to clean up spills. Sweep and scoop spilled material into clean, dedicated equipment. The slow-dissolving nature of the tablet means consistent dosing over time, which reduces the risk of chlorine dropping below the recommended 3-5ppm on your chlorinetest strips. Chlorine tablets are very cost effective and arguably the cheapest way to kill bacteria in a hot tub. Cost is also an important consideration when choosing how to chlorinate your hot tub water. Since chlorine is one of the chemicals you will buy most regularly you will want to be as cost-efficient as possible. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Over the past few years this choice of sanitiser has become increasingly popular as some inflatable hot tubmanufacturers such as Lay-Z-Spa have opted to recommend this to customers so as inflatable hot tubs have become popular, chlorine tablets have increased in popularity too. On the flip sidemany acrylic hot tub manufacturers do not recommend chlorine tablets for reasons thatwe will outline below. Please ensure that you follow your manufacturers recommendations to prevent damage to your hot tub. In this guide we will outline the good and bad things about tablets, how to use them and answer some common FAQs. Why Are Chlorine Tablets Good? Clearwater® Multi-Function Chlorine Tablets are an incredibly simple way to maintain clear and hygienic hot tub water. These multi-function chlorine tablets are designed for use with floating dispensers or the Lay-Z-Spa® ChemConnect. They will slowly erode over a period of 3 to 5 days, depending on the amount of water flowing over them. If you are going away we would suggest emptying the hot tub and cleaning it so the water is not left to go stagnant. Do not re-fill until you return from your trip. Remove the cover from Lay-Z-Spa to allow evaporation of the chlorine (keep the filter running constantly). in-1 tablets sanitise and stabilise your water whilst preventing algae growth and clearing cloudy water

Drain hot tub to the minimum mark and re-fill with fresh water to the maximum mark, this will help to dilute the excess chlorine.Outdoor storage areas for your hot tub chemicals should be situated away from anything flammable. Keep any petrol-powered equipment, like your lawnmower, in a different location. The storage area should also be away from sources of heat, like an outdoor fire pit or BBQ. It is important to get your hot tub Chlorine levels correct. Not enough Chlorine can result in unhygienic bathing conditions, whereas high Chlorine levels can cause irritated eyes or skin.

Chlorine is absolutely essential for maintaining a healthy and enjoyable spa. Most Lay-Z-Spa owners will be well aware of the two recommended ways to add chlorine to your hot tub water: Clearwater multifunction tablets and Clearwater chlorine granules. But which will work better for you? Let’s find out! Which Is Better For Maintaining Chlorine Levels? Chlorine tablets (Trichlor) are acidic which means PH and Alkalinity will reduce when using this product. This means more PH balancing is required than using a more PH neutral product like chlorine granules.ClearWater® is our chosen and recommended chemical provider. Developed with Lay-Z-Spa in mind, the range of ClearWater® hot tub chemicals includes everything needed to make sure your Lay-Z-Spa's water stays safe, clean and clear. Explore the table below which includes each product’s use and function. It is common for chlorine tablets to create a high chlorine level which can be damaging to hot tub components. Thisdoes tend to be user error assome hot tubbers see tablets as a 'set and forget' system, which leads to misuse of the product. As with any hot tub sanitiser, PH and alkalinity levels must be balanced. This TA Increaser helps raise Total Alkalinity levels, which in turn will help control pH levels and chlorine. For low TA levels below 80ppm you will need to use Total Alkalinity Increaser. The amount of TA + you need to add to your hot tub depends on the volume of water and how low your readings are. As a guide - a hot tub of 1,000 litres requires 18g to raise Total Alkalinity levels by 10ppm (parts per million). Chlorine is a sanitiser that controls and prevents bacteria growth and is essential for the hot tub water to be clean and safe to use. The recommended Free Chlorine* level in a hot tub is 3-5ppm (parts per million).

Clearwater pH Minus , also known as ‘pH reducer’ is the most simple and effective way to decrease the pH of your spa water when it has surpassed the recommended level. pH minus can also be used to lower TA (Total Alkalinity) levels. When you’re ready to begin mixing your chemicals, you should handle them with chemical resistant gloves. The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation. It is also advised to wear tightly sealed goggles and appropriate protective clothing such as long sleeves, trousers, and closed-toed shoes that fully protect your feet from spills. You should also wash your hands after handling chemicals. In a floating dispenser, fill the floating dispenser with tablets and adjust the aperture mechanism at the bottom of the dispenser to obtain the 1 - 3 mg/l (ppm) desired free chlorine range. Alternatively keep the dispenser aperture constant and vary the tablets inside to achieve 1-3 mg/l (ppm). The dispenser should be removed from the pool while swimmers are bathing. The amount of pH increaser or decreaser you need to add to your hot tub depends on the volume of water and how low your readings are. Refer to the dosage information will be printed on the individual chemical bottles. Always pre-dissolve chemicals in a clean, plastic container in a well-ventilated area. When pre-dissolving chemicals always add chemicals to water and not vice versa. Always add the chemicals to the water.

Place One tablet in the skimmer basket per 45,450 litres (10,000 gallons) and adjust tablet numbers as necessary to take account of your water flow to achieve 1 - 3 mg/l (ppm) free chlorine relatively consistently. Chlorine demand of water too high at start up, after holidays or due to excess contamination or neglect Dose rate is normally 1 to 2 tablets (placed into the skimmer basket, floating dispenser or chlorine feeder) per 45,450 litres (10,000 gallons) of water. The number of tablets required will depend on pool usage and weather conditions. Never use unlabelled chemicals and please read the instructions before use. Avoid getting chemicals in eyes, on skin or on clothing. Avoid breathing vapours when opening a container. Avoid creation of dust. Never add water to the product. Always add product to large quantities of water. Use separate clean dry utensils for each chemical and clean after use. Do not add the product to any dispensing device containing residuals of other products. Multifunction chlorine tablets offer a more hands-off approach to chlorinating your spa. You can control the amount of chlorine released into the hot tub by adjusting the opening on your Chemical Floater or ChemConnect Dispenser so you can easily maintain a constant level of chlorine. Additionally, the tablets contain Algaecide and Water Clarifier for even easier water management.
