About this deal

When it comes to speaker pairings, the more energetic nature of the A30 has to be taken into account. My go-to pairing for class D amplifiers is my Wharfedale Diamond 9.4, but surprisingly it didn’t pan out the way I hoped it would. The warmer character of the 9.4 doubled down on the warmer bass character on the A30, which resulted in having an overpowering bass response. Layering within the soundstage isn’t the A30’s strong suit, so some images will not go deep into the soundstage. While there is some layering within the soundstage, the images don’t venture too deep into the soundstage creating a more compressed imaging presentation. DAC Input

It easily pairs with many headphones, allowing the quality of the headphones to shine through while maintaining control over the drivers creating a detailed listening experience with images that are properly placed within the soundscape. Loxjie A30 Technical Specifications The difference isn't too big, SE sounds a little less dynamic/more compressed, a little less 3D and has somewhat less bassOn top of that, the unit seems to have a rather significant level of hiss when not playing anything. I'm using the optical input and the noise is the same regardless of whether or not the cable is even plugged in. I'm surprised they don't just stop the output amp when no data is coming in, since this is a class D amp and could theoretically not output any noise in that case.

The D30 has enough space at the rear of the device for a wide range of digital inputs, including a full-sized USB B as the DAC input as well as single-ended RCA analog outputs. The D30 also has a standard IEC plug that can be swapped for any other preferred IEC plug. the da-9 on the other hand sounds pretty analytical with more "air" or "definition" as if it has more reverb. A DAC or whatever method of single ended input you are using will make a huge difference to what the amplifier produces and amplifies. You can only in- or decrease bass and treble in the TONE mode (+/- 10db in 1db steps). If you do, the unit automatically switches to the TONE mode. Sadly, there is no full EQ to manipulate different frequencies. Up close, the menu display is clear, the layout simple and streamlined. The Loxjie A30 is an integrated 2.1 stereo amplifier and a headphone amp (100mW max) with a built-in DAC (an ESS "Sabre" ES9023) which delivers hi-res audio. The unit cannot be turned off completely, but it needs only 0.5W in standby. Not a big issue.

The "laptop-style" power supply is supposed to deliver 24V / 6.5A, but a review on Audio Science Science Review ( https://www.audiosciencereview.com/...oxjie-a30-amplifier-review.17547/#post-569056) suggests that it delivers much less. If I decide to keep the Loxjie I might need to get a higher-quality power supply that delivers power as advertised. Speakers: I wanna get similarily big speakers with a deep low end, up to 450€ per pair, no subwoofer With an option for Bluetooth connection, the A30 makes for a comprehensive solution as an integrated amplifier. Based on the specs sheet, the L30’s headphone section has a lot more power to spare having a rated output of 2.3W into 32Ω. However, I wouldn’t dismiss either amplifier simply based on rated power output numbers. The A30 is powered by an Infineon "Merus" MA 1270 chip (unlike the Texas Instruments chip used in the Aiyimas) which can deliver up to 80 watts per channel into 4 ohm speakers, or it could if the power supply were as strong as advertised. EDIT: Actually in the dead silence of the night, if i concentrate, i can still hear the hiss from 1-2 meters away if the speaker is pointed right at my ear... but it's still a million times better than my rokit's.. and at least there's a mute button to fix it.. Having a standard IEC power cord also makes it more convenient for use with some audiophile-grade power cables. However, having an external power supply on the A30 also allows for the option of upgrading the entire power supply down the road. The IPS display comes in very handy, as it is big enough for you to see the current input from 6 feet and more away. If you dig into the menu, you'll have to move closer to the unit. Review and detailed measurements of Loxjie A30 by Audio Science Review: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/loxjie-a30-amplifier-review.17547/

Convenient, the Loxjie A30 allows you to receive your audio files remotely, in Bluetooth, directly from your smartphone. The Bluetooth 5.0 standard combined with the aptX protocol allows for a stable and high quality transmission. EQ Mode Measuring 15.1 x 17.0 x 3.8 centimeters, the D30 is compact. It features a similar build to SMSL’s M400, only smaller. The D30 has an all-aluminum chassis and it feels quite durable in hand. Thanks to its compact body and the fact that it is an AIO solution, it doesn’t take a lot of space on your desk. The has a smooth to touch grey finish and it resists scratches up to a degree. The unit comes with a good resolution IPS screen and a multifunctional volume wheel that also acts as a navigation button. Built as an integrated amplifier, the A30 has speaker outputs at the rear. Despite having 5-way binding posts, the more crowded arrangement of the speaker terminals will make using bare wires very difficult. So I suggest having at least spades or banana plugs to make termination less cumbersome. Moving over to my Monitor Audio Monitor 100 bookshelf speakers, which have a colder and more subdued character, the pairing with the A30 ends up being simply synergistic. The faster nature of the A30 allowed the Monitor 100 to maintain its clarity and speed while being imbued with a bit more warmth and energy making this pairing a truly engaging listen. Soundstage isn’t exactly the strong suit of either amplifier, however, the DA-9 has an overall flatter soundstage. So the layering within the soundstage sounds more compressed comparatively. However, the accuracy of the directionality of the images within the soundstage is presented equally well.

There is a marked difference between Tidal FLAC and MQA when being decoded with the D30. While the tonal balance remains generally the same, there is a marked improvement in terms of overall texture most notably in how drum hits are executed. Unfolded MQA readily conveys an image of the cavity of the drum being hit. The first pair of speakers I'll be test-hearing are the Nubox 383, but I'd be happy about speaker suggestions around 350-500€ (max 600 if they are a real "killer" value).... Dynaudio Emir M10 (570€) ? I just received my Loxjie D30 DAC and cannot be more pleased. I was initially concerned that the ESS Sabre chip wouldn’t have as good as sound as my SMSL M200 with AKM-4497 chip. Boy was I wrong! The ES9068AS is Sabre’s only “Current” output chip. AKM 4499 implemented Current output in their chips, be we all know about the AKM shortage. However, the DA-9 has a full balanced input option, thus it also has a completely balanced internal circuit. The power output of both units is similar though, with the DA-9 putting out 10W more at 90W into 4Ω.
