About this deal

They’re built well are are pretty rugged. My Joyo clone pedals have already endured years of abuse and still function perfectly. I wirden them in parallel to GND, so the Pot contol how much signal is send to GND and the cap sets the frequncy response. The bigger the cap the more Bass and less trebble you get which was exactly what I had in mind when doing this. The appeal of this octave guitar effect pedal stems from the various combinations it offers. The slight volume modulation that accompanies the octave down adds a bit of movement to the dry signal and sills out the frequency spectrum in the second octave down. You can also combine the octave-up with the dry signal to produce a believable 12-guitar sound. If you want a pipe organ sound, add a second octave up. Having said that, the Joyo does one of these voices. And it does it very very well. The Joyo US Dream, as well as the Suhr Riot, are fantastic pedals to be used for lead tones. And, just like a natural overdriven tube amp responds to volume control, so will these two pedals. Essentially, they clean up really nicely.

For the purposes of this clone list, I will be discussing only the 10 and 30 series of pedals. The reason I haven’t included the Iron Man series is that these mini pedals are supposed to hold their own. And whilst they very well may be clones, I’m much more equipped to discuss the 10 and 30 series. The Donner Harmonic Square Octave is an octave and pitch shifter pedal that will work great with any six-string guitar, 4-string bass guitars, baritone guitar, etc. It offers three modes of operation. By using its toggle you can choose between Sharp, Detune, and Flat. Each of these delivers a different flavor of octave and lets you explore a myriad of sounds. The other tiny knob (Dry) sets the volume of your original sound. The toggle will produce the most drastic changes in sound as you can change it to choose between the Sharp, Detune, and Flat modes to dictate the amount of pitch-shifting you wish. The big knob (the encoder) will allow you to choose to go up or down by the desired semitones, as well as 1 or 2 octaves, all in a simple to use fashion. These 2 caps are marked as C9 and C15 on the Joyo PCB. C9 is immediately below the top left hand pot (fuzz) in the gutshot in post 1. C15 is below the mid-cut switch and off to the right. These caps correspond to C7 and C12 on the ggg schematic. The voodoo octave is a cheap octazver/fuzz pedal made by Joyo. Fuzz, tone and volume knobs are pretty common, but there is a little mid cut switch to get a "Muffer" tone and a fat sound. There's also 2 footswitches : on/off and octave, which make it more polyvalent. Personally I don't hear a "real fuzz" like Fuzz Face or Maestro, it's more a high distorsion. Basically, it permits to get 4 different kind of tone : classical or mid-cut and both avaible with or without octave up ! And i won't talk about variations with the fuzz knob, that's pretty effective. The octave sound can't be activated without fuzz and adds an octave up. A famous sound heard in Hendrix or Neil Young's records, for simple riffs or legendary solos, but don't try with too complex chords or it will turn into a real mash !!You may see where I'm going with this, the reduced octave on the JF-12 might be comparable to that of the SF300, no? So if we can leave that but fix the bass response, it may sound like a Superfuzz, right? To my ear they are quite similar, mostly differing by frequency curve,

Joyo is an already-established Chinese clone pedal brand and they’ve been around for quite some time. As a result, we can see their pedals hold up well The Donner Harmonic Square has 7-octave modes that you can switch by turning the main knob: ±2, ±3, ±4, ±5, ±7, 1 octave, and 2 octaves. All of this is housed in a very compact aluminum alloy chassis that will easily fit on any pedalboard and be able to take road and gig punishment. What a coincidence that you bumped this thread the same day I was looking for it. I have had this pedal for some months, and I have been meaning to investigate this further. The Voodoo Octave has three knobs for the effect parameters: Fuzz, Tone, and Volume. It also has a toggle switch that lets you select between Normal and Mid-Cut modes. For those unfamiliar with what these do, keep reading for a brief explanation of the controls.

Joyo Voodoo Octave - Review of JF-12 Fuzz Effect Pedal

This is a musical octaver without unwanted glitches in lower notes and chords, allowing you to transform your electric guitar into a 12-string, a bass, or even a church organ. The Growl and Girth controls are where most of the action is in this pedal. The Growl knob is the mid-range, slightly edgy octave-below controls, while the Girth knob is for a smoother octave-below. Since these controls are independent of each other, it opens up a great array of tonal possibilities. The Dry Knob helps you achieve the precise blend of effects to signal ratio.Just like with the Chinese clone pedal 10 Series by Joyo features some amp simulator/preamp pedals. So does the Ironman series. Only this time these incredible preamps/amp simulators come in the same tiny size as the rest of the Ironman pedals. Furthermore, Joyo has added a few new amp simulators to this range that aren’t featured in the 10 series. The Joyo Ironman amp simulator clone list is as follows: The Joyo Digital delay is not a direct clone of any specific pedal. However, one thing about the Joyo digital delay is that a filter within the circuit of the pedal has been designed in such a way as to replicate that of an analog delay. Perhaps this is one of those few Joyo pedals that were designed to be unique and be their own thing. Unfortunately, this delay, along with the other Joyo delay pedals, does not come with a tap tempo function. Joyo Tai Chi Overdrive Review: Clone Of The Zen Drive?? There is still plenty of distortion, sustain and grunge that's for sure, maybe more. To me it sounds a lot lot better. Probably the same basic sound but easier to hear the grunge and distortion. Like if you had a blanket over your speaker box and then took it off. Difficult to explain. Looking closely at the Joyo Extreme Metal, it is quite easy to see that this is pretty much a very close copy of the EHX Metal Muff. The Joyo is enclosed in a smaller casing which could be considered a good thing for many. Both the Joyo Extreme Metal as well as the EHX Metal Muff feature an epic Boost switch which allows you to add more “tops” to your guitar sound. Allowing you to cut through the mix. This octave pedal allows you to blend an octave below and octave above a given note, balancing the sounds with the responsive controls. A single input and two outs allow you to split the dry and wet signals. Power Supply 2 by Joyo is a PS that does not seem to be a clone of anything original that I’ve seen. Having said that, I’ve seen many other Chinese clone pedal companies that have a very similar model, just with different branding, to this Joyo Power Supply 2. As a matter of fact, If I must be honest, this is the power supply that I have on my pedalboard. It’s been with me since 2014 and hasn’t let me down since. Joyo Power Supply 5 Clone Of NothingI’ve never used a noise gate and never really investigated them to be completely honest. I am not very well equipped to talk about these pedals. However, I can confirm that this is not a direct clone of any other Noise Gate out there. But as far as functionality goes, it looks very reminiscent of the Decimator noise gate pedal. I know the Decimator is an exceptionally popular Noise Gate. So I would not be at all surprised if this Joyo noise gate was at the very least inspired by the Decimator Noise gate. To mix in your direct signal, you can use the Dry knob and if you wish, you can also add up to + 14 dB of internally adjustable mid frequencies (400 Hz or 850 Hz) by engaging the Mid+ switch. To conclude it's a good product if you want to test the octafuzz tone at a low price unlike vintage reissues (and even more with only vintage ones), however it will necessarily need to be replaced. It's a nice stuff to begin, but a bit too 'cold' compared to vintage records.
