EditSynopsis Bold and witty Nanoka Koyanagi believes she is above the typical assignments that her teacher gives in school. Rather than participating in her physical education class, the young girl crafts a foolproof argument to avoid any activity altogether. Instead of being impressed, Nanoka's worried teacher decides to give her a new task—to find the meaning of the word "happiness."Hidup itu seperti film dramatis. (hal. 10) After reading At Night, I Become a Monster by the same author, I was quite excited for this book - and it definitely didn't disappoint. The story is told from the point of view of an elementary school kid, Nanoka, who is a precocious little thing; part of her story is about her trying to help a classmate who is getting bullied, but the overall theme of the story is about her growing to learn what the meaning of happiness is.

Nanoka doesn't really have friends among her classmates, but she is not exactly a loner - she speaks to others on a friendly basis, shares book recommendations with one, and is sorta chatty with her seat neighbor, Kiryuu. Her actual friends are a cat, a high school girl she meets on a deserted building's rooftop, Minami, a young woman whose house she frequents, who she calls 'Skank-san' after she mistakes the slur on her door for her name, and an old woman whose house she visits. Being the only kid of working parents, she has the freedom to walk around the neighborhood, and she daily goes out with the cat. Bravery. I like how there's one character who shows that not everyone can be brave even if they wanted to. We kept a lot of things from people especially when they see our weaknesses. And sometimes, just shoving or pressuring people to be brave can actually hurt them. Some of us takes a lot of time to make progress, and that's fine! Just support them in the best way and try to understand their feelings.A layered coming-of-age story from the author of I Want to Eat Your Pancreas and At Night, I Become a Monster. a b c Sherman, Jennifer (October 23, 2019). Seperti yang tersirat dalam dialog nenek dan Nanoka berikut ini: Chief among those differences is the fact that this tale follows a heroine rather than a hero. Nanoka is also significantly younger than the boys who are the protagonists of Sumino's other works; she's only in the fourth grade, making her about nine years old. She's a very precocious child, but that isn't doing her many favors, largely because she knows she's ahead of her peers academically, which she assumes makes her different from them entirely. That's a dangerous thought pattern to fall into, and since her parents aren't around much due to their jobs, it becomes her teacher's task to try and gently teach her that being “special” doesn't mean that you're any better or worse than anyone else. Like many precocious children, Nanoka thinks that she still knows more than the adults around her, which is behind the importance of the three friends she makes outside of her home.

(hal. 278)

Trauma Swing: Nanoka sees a forlorn-looking man sitting in a swing in a local park on a couple of occasions, then learns that it's Kiryu's father when she runs into the two of them together. (Abazure san to Nanoka. 197) I Had That Same Dream Again: The Complete Manga Collection". Seven Seas Entertainment . The more she investigates, the closer she gets to her friends and learning about herself.
