About this deal

Disappointingly, there are fewer HDMI ports – three instead of four, but ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) are covered across all of them so you could plug a game console into any port and benefit from those features – though they are HDMI 2.0 ports, not 2.1 specified. eARC is supported on HDMI 2 for pass-through of lossless audio. That’s it for the 2022 Hisense TV models announced so far. Below are the 2021 models that are still on sale online and in-store. Hisense TV 2021 U9GQ HDR support intends to bring better depth, detail and contrast where possible, while Dolby Atmos audio delivers cinematic audio from the speakers embedded into the TV console, with sound coming from all directions. The TV also features the same X-Fusion technology found in the 100L9G-DLT100 for over 25000 hours of entertainment. The Hisense U7QF is a very good midrange LED LCD that uses Quantum Dot technology and also has Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG and HDR10 capabilities along with Dolby Atmos sound onboard. The smart TV system is intuitive and fast with a decent selection of apps as well as Freeview Play and all the UK catch-up services. Gaming input lag is also decent at 17ms but it doesn’t have all the HDMI 2.1 goods for VRR or ALLM.

Switch to standard-def content from the built-in tuner and the Hisense copes much better, largely because the higher frame rate of the signal requires less processing from the TV, and the motion smearing issue is almost gone.Once you turn the lights down, more issues surrounding the FALD and LCD technology become apparent with more blooming noticeable around things like subtitles and bright objects like white spaceships against the darkness of space. It is possible to mitigate against some of these issues and making sure your viewing environment is suitable for this type of TV display will help.

When it comes to HD video, the Hisense U7QF is more than capable of upscaling for its 4K display. The classic British comedy Hot Fuzz looked sharp and detailed – with none of those grainy filters you often get with sub-standard upscaling – while also showing off the U7QF’s exceptional brightness control. If you’re willing to spend a bit more for an even better piece of kit, the Samsung AU9000 review (50AU9000) was rated five stars in its T3 review. While it may not have Dolby Vision, it does have great picture performance from most sources. The Hisense 55A7GQTUK QLED series TV is built with Quantum Dot technology, which provides vibrant and accurate colors. This technology uses tiny semiconductor nanocrystals that emit light in precise colors, producing a wide color gamut. The TV also features Dolby Vision HDR technology, which enhances each scene’s brightness, contrast, and color, resulting in a more immersive viewing experience. We’re told these features are in “the early stages of development”, but for now it’s probably better to give them a wide berth. With SDR content it fires on more cylinders. As is Hisense’s trademark, images are delivered with a strong sense of colour – primary colours have the look of children’s colouring book in how punchy they look. Complexions are warmly expressed (perhaps overcooked in some places) but it makes for an attention-grabbing image. In 2021 Hisense launched its first Mini-LED display in the U9GQ. That has now been followed up with the 2022 flagship U8HQ model. Colours looked accurate and natural, whether you’re watching nature documentaries or dramas. Although admittedly, the HDR brightness isn’t as bright as you’d get elsewhere so the contrast could be better. You'll only really see the impact of this when you're watching particularly dark movies or using it on a sunny day. There’s no adaptive brightness to automatically adjust the display settings according to the lighting conditions in the room. As such, you’ll get the best viewing experience from it on a dreary day or in the evening. Quantum Dot TV 4K Over one billion shades of colors can be reproduced on your display with quantum dot technology with Hisense A7G QLED 4K Smart TV. Dolby Atmos enabled QLED TV brings breakthrough immersive audio experience to your home whether it is shows, games or live sports.
