About this deal

The entire construction is made of plastic and along with stiff cushion pads, the old HD series discomfort issues play a role in my life yet again. These are not comfortable when you first buy them or use them new. It takes some time for the pads to soften up and the headband to stop clamping. It needs usage. Tl;dr: I dont know if there are compromises in the manufacture of the Sennheiser HD6XX because its crowdsourced and potentially built to a different price point to the HD650 its based on.

Specifically, we’re talking about warm and rigid bass, a midrange that dips close to the ruddy colors of analog tape saturation (without sacrificing an ounce of detail), and a laser-tight response up top that helps illuminate vivid clarity and granular instrumental texture across the board. So yeah, they sound pretty good. And if we talk about the bass sound, it’s so rigid and warm, and the midrange sounds also dip close to the glowing colors of analog tape saturation. The Sennheiser HD6XX can be the perfect headphone for you if you are an audiophile and at the same time looking for a headphone of a modest price. It is a high-end headphone with a fix at less kind of deal and has an impressive design. In these formative days of headphone audiophilea I recall being at a meet in College Park, MD where there were a number of HD600s and HD650s. We were auditioning cables by Cardas, Stefan AudioArt and other DIY concoctions including pure silver cables. It was amazing what a difference the cable could make to the signature.

The potential dealbreaker here is in the treble response. With its neutral lower midrange and relatively light note weight, its 5k-ishHz boost gets a little intense and harsh at times. Now you’ve probably already read some impressions on the HD560S and this peak; some say it’s completely benign and not worth the worry. Others claim it’s the worst thing in the world and will pierce your ears with the might of Zeus. Not much to write home about with the Massdrop box presentations. It is quite standard, just a cardboard box, some paperwork, and a ¼ adapter are included along with a short, portable length detachable cable for the HD58x. The cable length has also been shortened from a studio-friendly 10 feet to a tighter 6 feet. Total weight is 9.2 ounces, and these babies have some serious clamping force. That’s alleviated by the soft padding, making it easy to wear the 6XX for long listening sessions, although your hair will get appropriately disheveled by those mondo earpieces. Sound So apart from being perfect in sound, it also offers an open stage sound range. You can find amazing details in different music that you weren’t able to find before. So, as a whole, the HD6XX is top-notch regarding the audio system. Things You Need to Know In the high frequencies the HD6XX is a bit more reserved than it should be. It sounds absolutely realistic and provides a lot of information, but in the top end it might be a few dB more without making the sound too bright or artificial in my opinion. This could also give the HD6XX more transparency. Here I would like a more direct response, but as in the bass and mids this is criticism on a high level, because basically the HD6XX does everything right when it comes to natural sound reproduction. Only a little bit the effervescence is missing, but life is not a rainbow-colored unicorn and therefore you can't really blame the HD6XX when it tries to stay authentic. Sibilants or peaks I can't make out, which makes for an absolutely safe and fatigue-free sound experience. Tonal correctness is clearly more important for the HD6XX than the big show.

What’s it like to use the Drop x Sennheiser HD 6XX?

And there are so many great headphones from different brands currently available in the market, from which you can choose the one perfect for you. And you should be careful about choosing the headphone as different kinds and models of headphones offer different things, and you should choose the one according to your need and spend your money on that. It’s hard to nail down the right classification for these headphones because they’re technically all of the above. Yes, the HD8XX comes off as fairly warm due to the contrast between the lower and upper mids; yes, the HD8XX is technically “V”-shaped due to its mids being less emphasised than its bass and treble; and yes, all of these characterisations basically revolve around a distinct centre-midrange “hole”.

Whether you want to listen to music in peace without disturbing anyone or just want to watch a movie, a headphone is very much essential for that. Audiophile or not, if you like to listen to music, you have obviously thought of buying a headphone. And today we are going to talk about the comparison Sennheiser HD6XX vs HD650 and provide as much as information we can. Comparison Charts between Sennheiser HD6XX vs HD650:

The HD6XX can easily provide a pleasing audio experience as it offers a nice mixture of an amazing and warm sonic quality and near clinical dedication to the originally rendered recording. And all these have made this signature dynamic-driven headphone the best of both the mentioned worlds. I got these because I had the DT 880 and wanted soemthing that was darker while still being neutral and not too expensive. These were recommended to me as fitting that bill and also being similar to the HD650, so it would also give me a chance to hear what others people frequently reference. That is one of the main reason I bought them as well, they were something tons of others have tried and I could compare my opinion to theirs to get a good internal reference. I used them with the CEntrance DACport HD. If you’ve heard the HD800/S then you should have a pretty good idea on how the HD8XX performs technically. Top-class resolution with some of the widest (some say the widest) soundstage in a headphone are the prime reasons why the HD800 series still remain relevant more than 10 years since their release in 2009.

As it is an upgraded version of the HD650, they have similarities in their design. And it is also similarly really good in performance; as a result, the HG6XX has taken a grand entry in the world of audio. However, there has been some change too. The HD560S can be described as simply “neutral”. Some may argue that it’s closer to being “bright-neutral”, but in comparison to something like the HD800S it’s not as peaky. On an objective level, the headphone that has superior audio fidelity and quality, for the most part on the low end, is the HD58x Jubilee by a narrow margin. It feels purer. The treble also feels cleaner and there is no “veil” that is present in the HD650/HD6xx. SubjectiveIn terms of literal fidelity and purity, the HD58x Jubilee fairs extremely well. In fact, for the price, maybe two or three other headphones exist on the market that are just as nice or can be with sufficient amplifier and DAC quality. It has a huge frequency response of 10 Hz to 41 kHz, which is phenomenal for a headphone that costs way less than 500 USD. To help illuminate granular instrumental texture and vivid clarity across the board, a laser tight response helps up the top.
