It’s an impressively quiet portable air conditioner, producing less than 56 decibels at maximum fan speed. Small and compact at 35” H X 18.75” W X 15.75” D, it has a 24-hour programmable timer.

Split Units: The Split Units are the most expensive option in air conditioners. They are also the quietest variants available in the market. While not very energy-efficient, these are the best chillers available. The compressor unit is housed outside the house, and it requires two hoses.

Volume/ Area of the Room: The volume or surface area of the room you want the air conditioner to cool matters considerably while making a selection. For our last rating metric, we estimated how much it would cost to run each of these models annually and, thus, how efficient they are. We assumed we would run each of these units for 12 hours a day for 90 days for our calculation. We also assumed that the 12 hours were split, with two hours of the AC being on a high setting to initially drop the temperature when you come home, then run on low for the remaining 10 hours to maintain the temperature at a comfortable level. We used 0.135 US cents per kWh for the cost of electricity in our calculations.
