If you love coffee with milk then either one of these appliances will fit the bill. With practice you’ll even be producing your own showy designs in the froth thanks to that great little milk jug. If you love milky coffees and high-quality kitchen products, this –or its sibling the Creatista Plus–is the machine for you. If you just want a simple Nespresso hit, buying would seem ever so ostentatious.

However, the downside is I personally like Vertuo pods more than Original. I think Nespresso has created more variety of flavors and sizes on Vertuo than third parties have for Original. All of the Nespresso Creatista models come with a built-in steam wand for frothing milk. The milk frother is automatic but you can adjust the settings to suit the drink you are making. For the milk frother to work all you have to do is put milk in the jug, select the settings and press start. The steam wand is also self-cleaning so it automatically purges to ensure there is no milk still in the tube after frothing. What’s nice about the steam wand is that it does an automatic steam purge after it has been used. However, I still had to clean the outside of the wand with a wet cloth to wipe off the dried milk. The user manual also suggests filling the milk jug with just water and selecting the milk function on the display to further clean the wand. The water should then be discarded. There’s 19-bar pressure available too, which means that the coffee you get from the Nespresso pods is always consistent, albeit a little samey. The Creatista Uno is a countertop number that weighs 5.2kg and has dimensions of 17.1 x 39.3 x 30.8cm (WxDxH), so it’s not huge, but certainly isn’t compact either.
