About this deal

Shenton, Zoe (27 February 2015). "Fearne Cotton is Pregnant!". The Mirror . Retrieved 28 February 2015. All Change at Radio 1". BBC Radio 1. 6 September 2007. Archived from the original on 11 October 2007 . Retrieved 6 September 2007. Cotton began her presenting career in 1996, at the age of 15, [9] with early-morning GMTV children's programme The Disney Club, after winning a competition for young talent to present the show. [10] Cotton later continued with the show and with its replacement Diggit. She left in 2000, to concentrate on her other projects with CITV, including Draw Your Own Toons and Mouse, aimed at encouraging children to use computers.

Donna Lancaster, co-founder of The Bridge Retreat, will introduce The Power of Prayer, an alternative non-religious approach to praying, that supports people to connect with the spiritual dimension to life. This form of prayer is not about a traditional belief in God or religion, but about reclaiming prayer for everyone to access, as a beautiful practice bringing you into a deeper connection with Life itself. Donna believes that praying regularly in this way helps people to become more trusting, open and connected as a direct result. From intuition and energy to the law of attraction, ritual, prayer and signs, Fearne explores positive ideas and exercises that are available to every single one of us. Take a first look at Fearne’s new book and change the way you look at your life. Here, she focuses on the big picture of love. I haven't listened to Fearne's Happy Place podcast before. I don't follow her on social media either. I only say this so you understand that this review is coming from a place of sincerity and not fandom. In the book Fearne (who has always been massively open to all things mystical) discusses topics like Shamanism, meditation, The Law of Attraction, energy, astrology, prayer (not religious prayer unless you want it to be), ritual, intuition and more. She brakes these topics down inviting readers to understand her history with each of them before inviting a specialist on each subject to have a bit of a free flowing chat with her. Along the way, each section offers the reader entry-level ways on how to make each topic a part of your life and how it could help. Another thing I think is worth mentioning is rituals, now I’m sure many of you are thinking you don’t take part in rituals but I bet your wrong. Have you ever thrown confetti at a wedding? Blown out candles on your birthday? Put a tree up at Christmas? Counted down to New Years? These are all symbolic moments of gratitude and love that we take for granted but that we all do… without questioning why. However they’re all old traditions. What if we put simple easy traditions into our everyday? Like lighting a candle? In her fourth book, Fearne Cotton explores that which is bigger than us. From meditation to mediums, there is something for everyone within whether you are a total sceptic, total believer or looking for something more. Her warmth, natural interview skills and ability to make presenting live TV seem effortless and has given her the opportunity to present a variety of shows over the years. How we get to that place is another story. My own rollercoaster of self-examination has been one of severe self-loathing at times and I’m so desperate to settle into a calmer plateau of self-acceptance. I assume that once I get there my relationships will be better, my love for the planet will be more respectful and my understanding of love in all its many guises will be cemented. I believe love is where it’s at when it comes to living a spiritual life of connection and meaning. It’s often the answer to so many of our problems but so often we forget it’s for us, due to feelings of unworthiness, and can’t perceive it in others as we only see our differences. Sarah Dale (24 September 2007). " 'I do' followed by a bit of a do". Evening Gazette. Archived from the original on 2 December 2008 . Retrieved 22 December 2008. Exclusive: Fearne Cotton and Holly Willoughby on men and marriage". Daily Mirror. 14 August 2006 . Retrieved 22 December 2008.

Fearne also talks to a bunch of fab people all in their respective fields and I loved reading her interviews with them. This was such a soothing read and one that I really enjoyed cosying up in bed and reading. It felt so validating and real, and was really enlightening. A definite recommend if you find yourself needing to find you again and learn to make space for yourself. A true gem of a book! The summarisation of everything we’ve heard a hundred times, but coupled with expert views and a much deeper - relatable and personal- dive, makes for a book I intend to read again and again. And probably again. I approached with this book with some trepidation and scepticism. I like Fearne and often listen to her podcast (Happy Place), but I'm not a spiritual person. However, I needn't have feared. Fearne, with her usual kindness and sensitivity, takes the reader through various ideas, conversations and experiences to try and open up a wider realm to people. But this is no hard sell and Fearne clearly knows that some of the things she talks about might be too "woo woo" for some. Cotton joined CBBC in 2001 to present children's science programme Eureka TV. From 2001 until 2003, she presented Finger Tips, an arts and crafts programme for children, which she co-presented with Stephen Mulhern. She later co-presented on CBBC's Sunday morning show, Smile and on The Saturday Show. She has also made appearances in the CBBC show Only in America, alongside her good friend and fellow presenter Reggie Yates. Cotton returned to children's television in 2015 by voicing one of the Voice Trumpets in the reboot of the classic British children's television series Teletubbies.

Over recent years, Fearne Cotton has refocussed her career and life to spend more time looking at connection rather than living a life of celebrity glitz and glamour. This book is the result of Fearne exploring the more spiritual things - those things that are "bigger than us". Beginning in 2008, Cotton appeared as a team captain on the ITV2 comedy panel show Celebrity Juice alongside host Keith Lemon and fellow team captain Holly Willoughby. Cotton took a short break from the programme in 2013 whilst on maternity leave, and Kelly Brook stood in for her during the ninth series. She quit the series in 2018. My relationship with love has changed over the years. At times I merely viewed it as something to get drunk on. I would crave kisses and human touch and the thrill of feeling my heart flip upside down with lust. An intoxicating, heart-thumping love was all I desired and the only kind of love I recognised outside of the grounded, long-lasting love for my family. Self-love was not in my orbit for a long time. I assumed I would like myself more if I was loved by another, maybe even lots of others. As my TV audience increased, I expected to find more acceptance of the bits of me I didn’t like. Maybe if others loved my insatiable enthusiasm that I felt out of control of, I would like it more too? Maybe if my characterful nose and bulbous eyes were applauded, I would find it easier to look in the mirror without judgement? I learned that lesson the hard way and have only really started to understand the power of self-love and acceptance recently. In September 2005, she joined BBC Radio 1 to present the Friday early morning slot with Reggie Yates, [21] with whom she had previously worked on CBBC, Only in America and Top of the Pops. Since 14 October 2007, Cotton and Yates presented BBC Radio 1's Chart Show, taking over from JK & Joel, who had left the station. [22] Cotton then became the first ever permanent female presenter of a BBC radio chart show. ( Jo Whiley had preceded her as the first female presenter of The Official UK Top 40, as it was then called, but presented it only once, on 24 November 2002.)
