After watching, I sat down to scribble just how cool this Twin Peaks inspired vinyl flooring would be in the right home. (And not just in a portal to another world or a corner of Agent Cooper’s mind). The bold red not quite a match to your towels and bathmat? No problem, we can switch it to a green, or blue, or yellow… Along with those full-length curtains (always creepy), that room has such a sense of foreboding and that something’s not quite right. Says it’s already sold out. Either incorrect information, or the dummies only made like a hundred copies or something. Much like the original show, this movie started out fantastically, with some amazing "surprise" appearances/performances (Bowie, Isaak) to add to that. Then it fell flat, and for me, they totally burst the bubble with revealing way too much about Leland Palmer (Laura's father) and the ongoings in the Palmer family. It was also difficult for me to accept that they exchanged Lara Flynn Boyle with Moira Kelly. UGH... No one does a better Donna Hayward than Lara did. Tenured punk Dan Sartain ditches the guitars in favor of midnight-blue synths and robotic rhythms on this album of minimalist synthpop.
