About this deal

There does feel as if something is missing from the Theragun Mini, especially in comparison to other massage guns that are cheaper, yet offer a host of extras. One or two more head attachments would make a big difference to the user experience, as would a Bluetooth connection to the Therabody app. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse or abuse, accident, liquids, including but not limited to, water or lotions, the attachment of any unauthorized accessories, alteration to the product, improper use, unauthorized repairs or modifications, improper use of electrical power supply, loss of power, variation in line voltage, dropped product, malfunction or damage of an operating part from failure to provide manufacturer's recommended maintenance, transportation damage, theft, neglect, vandalism or environmental conditions, loss of use during the period the product is at the Theragun repair facility or otherwise awaiting parts or repair or any other conditions whatsoever that are beyond the control of Therabody. And of course, despite not being fully connected, the Therabody app is a great resource for anyone with a massage gun. You can follow along with the routines very easily, even if you can’t connect your device via Bluetooth. Theragun Mini review: what’s not so good about it?

From our perspective as long-term users of various devices, the one-year warranty was a disappointment as we value longer warranty periods. The weight has been reduced by 25%, down from 1.45 pounds to 1.1 pounds. We did the measuring with the ball head attached. This is a significant reduction for a mini massage gun. It basically went from heavy to light in terms of weight category. Fun Fact The mini 2, even though smaller, is more powerful than the bigger Hypervolt Go 2, which heavily underperforms in stall force. The gun features just one button that allows users to power it on and toggle between the three speeds. There’s no screen to show you the device’s speed, unlike the Theragun Pro; three lights indicate your speed level instead. The mini is compatible with all 4th generation attachments, so you have the option use your favorite attachment from your PRO, Elite, or Prime, or explore our entire selection and find the right one for you.For inexperienced users, even the lowest setting will provide a strong enough massage experience. After the break-in period – around a week or two – you will be amazed at how weak the Mini feels at lower settings compared to when you first started using the mini. In our test, the noise level of the Mini 2 was lower compared to the Mini 1. Mini 1 maxed at 61.4dB. Mini 2 maxes at 60.5dB. Yes we have seen some lighter devices, but those are often plastic and toy-like with very little power. We like to use the Ekrin Bantam as our benchmark for the perfect mini massage gun. The Bantam weighs 1.1 pounds – Theragun mini finally catches up! We voted the tiny Bantam the best mini gun, but Theragun mini 2 is finally catching up! The Thumb Head: This one is the only firm head in the set. However, it has a somewhat similar shape to the other two. It’s also the smallest.

When we reviewed mini 1, we discussed how the unique design was something to appreciate. However, despite the genius idea, it wasn’t the most comfortable device to hold.

Similarly to the Theragun Mini, the Hyperice Hypervolt GO 2 is a portable massage gun, albeit with a more standard massage gun shape. It's not quite as powerful as the full-size Hypervolt 2 and 2 Pro, and you also miss out on Bluetooth connectivity, but these are things most non-professional athletes can live without. A great no-compromise entry-level massage gun. It means you can now connect it to the Therabody app and use the guided routines and the custom speeds. Even though this is not a must-have option (you can learn the routines on YouTube), beginner users can learn different massaging techniques. Therabody App allow you to set custom speeds and follow the guided routines. To be honest, we didn’t expect Therabody to alter the shape of mini 2. We’re guessing it’s a small price to pay for what you get from Therabody. Theragun mini 2.0 in action.

Also - trying to figure out - does the Device or the charger detect when the batt is complete and stops the charge? The 'official' barrel charger that comes with the device is labeled as a power supply. We haven’t recommended it here as the best alternative because it’s weaker than the new Theragun mini. Another reason the Go 2 doesn’t qualify as the best alternative is that the mini 2 is a revamped version of the mini 1. This mini 2 is clearly an upgrade of the older model. Welcome to this Theragun mini review. If you haven’t got the news, there is a new mini massage gun in town. And it’s from one of the big boys in the business. Unlike the Theragun Pro, the Theragun Mini does not have Bluetooth connectivity. This means it won’t connect with the Therabody app and allow you to sync your device. Although you can still follow along with the routines, tutorials and programs (including guides for first-time users, as well as specific ailments such as sciatica or carpal tunnel syndrome) it won’t let you connect and follow along in real time.

While the mini 2 is easy to stall with its 20lbs. stall force, the Go 2 is even weaker. We figure there isn’t more than 10-15lbs. of stall force in the motor. Hyperice doesn’t say how much pressure their device can withstand. We found the Mini 2’s sound to be similar to the Theragun Pro Gen 5 from our previous testing. Based on our usage, we believe there is potential for further noise reduction, but this is a positive step forward. The new mini (first photo) noise level is about 1 dB lower than the mini 1’s. However, the strain on the arm isn’t as bad as it was with mini 1. This is because mini 2 is much thinner now. It’s also lighter. It’s now even better for folks with small hands and females too. It’s definitely a unique shape, but the ergonomics is only so-so.
