About this deal

Among these people were journalists, accountants and other professionals. The nature of their various jobs had the same net effect: having to deal with enormous volumes of non-fiction as part of their working life meant that when it came to the weekend, or going on holiday, the last thing they wanted to do was read yet more non-fiction. That Buddhism is all about compassion is what HHC gathers from the Dalai Lama. She describes the presence of the great man.. David, I bought the Dalai Lama’s Cat purely because of my love of cats. What a beautiful surprise! I literally sobbed through the book, I don’t mean cry, it was heart wrenching wails. The messages obviously had a profound effect on me..lol. Dear Malka, Thank you so much for your warm and generous message. I am so glad that the Dharma is resonating with you! Here’s wishing you a very happy festive season and all the best with your Dharma journey in 2016! Warm wishes, David I have thoroughly enjoyed each book. I always slow down when I get to the last chapter so I can make the book last as long as possible. Like Connie, I also hope there will be more adventures and learning experiences for HHC, and for your readers.

The Dalai Lama’s Cat series – David Michie

I so agree! I am the same. I work hard and want to be taken away into a fantasy life in my spare time. But I’m also very hopeful to grow spiritually, so your books have been a favourite of mine. One question I’ve always wanted to ask you is did the Dalai Lama and the Queen (Queens Corgi) have to, or want to comment on these books? Hi David, I´m wondering whether the Dalai Lama knows about your book? I hope he does! It was a joy to read it, thanks! and one more question: was the cat real? I red articles about the book and I understood that the cat was real just the story you created around her was fictional. Is it right? I am asking because my english is not the best and I might misunderstood it. Thank you! What if it could talk? Or even … write a book? That was the start of The Dalai Lama’s Cat series. One thing I hadn’t counted on was how engaged readers would become in the life of His Holiness’s Cat – or HHC, to give her official title. Because the simple fact is that characters and stories engage us at an emotional level, which most non-fiction books do not. Novels can speak not only to our minds, but also to our hearts.

The Dalai Lama’S Cat And The Four Paws Of Spiritual Success

If you’re interested in learning more about mindfulness and other Buddhist principles, this is an easily accessible way to do so. If you believe that cats have many lessons to teach us, reading this enchanting book will be a transformational experience for you. If I had to summarize The Dalai Lama’s Cat in just a few words, they would be “Buddhism 101, brought to you by an adorable cat.” But these few words wouldn’t do this charming book justice. While this warm-hearted story of a small kitten rescued from the slums of New Delhi through fortuitous circumstances may be a little contrived, it’s also utterly delightful. So as far as I’m concerned, the case is closed. You have photographic evidence that the Dalai Lama is a Cat Lover. I, HHC, have an online pawprint that grows by the day. The matter of my existence is therefore beyond dispute. Thank you, thank you, thank you for writing these books. I believe you must have been a cat in another life because you write so intuitively from Rinpoche’s point of view. I do find reading self help books dry and don’t do well with them. I have learned so much from Rinpoche in the 3 books. I even just start reading them again when I just need to calm down from my crazy days. (I start work by 6 AM so I can be at the nursing home with my mom at dinnertime each night) Please do not stop adding to this series so I can continue to learn from one of my favorite cats and continue down the path of enlightenment.I am a person with chronic pain and your Dalai Lama’s cat series has been such a comfort to me. The messages of Buddhism included in the novels are inspiring and full of hope. Please write more of this series! They are such a breath of fresh air in a world filled with anger, hatred and violence. We need to keep hearing about impermanence and what brings true happiness. I’m reading and enjoying The Magician of Llasa right now. You are so talented and have so much wisdom to share. Thank you. Mindfulness means paying attention to the present moment deliberately and non-judgementally.” Why you should read this book… Featuring a delightful cast of characters, timeless Buddhist wisdom, and His Holiness’s compassion pervading every chapter, The Dalai Lama’s Cat is simply enchanting. sometimes our negative conditioning can be overpowering… learn from your mistakes and move on. Like that.”

The Dalai Lama’s Cat by David Michie - Dear Author REVIEW: The Dalai Lama’s Cat by David Michie - Dear Author

Puh-lease! It’s enough to make you want to sink your fangs very deeply into a tender part of their anatomy. So, I want to put this matter to rest, once and for all.As a cat lover myself I am so glad that you responded in just the way I had hoped – in fact, even more enthusiastically than I could have hoped! Dear Lynne, Thank you so much for your very kind message. I am very sorry to hear about your chronic pain. I just wanted to mention the work of Dr Bruno Cayoun, who I had the privilege to meet this year at a conference. He specialises in helping people suffering from chronic pain use mindfulness to manage their condition – often with astonishing results! http://www.mindfulness.net.au/micbt-books-cds.html I adore your style of writing and now you are my favourite author by far. Looking forward to the next two!
