About this deal

The split pad compact is my go to Switch joycon alternative, so I'll probably end up getting the Zelda ones of these

I think I prefer Power-A controllers to Hori, but these are pretty neat. I like my Pac-Man Split Pad Pro, although it feels like it's made of cheap plastic, and there's a small gap on the sides that pinch and chafe the palms of your hands. Not very comfortable. I'd be curious to try out whatever that thing on the far-right is. Basically their Split Pad Pro but slimmer and seemingly more comfortable-looking. I've seen some of them in stores recently in just a generic solid color, but this is the first themed one I've seen.If you're looking for more Tears of the Kingdom products, Nintendo will also be offering a collector's edition, amiibo, themed Switch OLED, a Pro controller and a carry case. I love my hori but had to switch to the Binbok since they have rumble and motion control. The d pad is horrendous though. Lol. InJeffable - yeh that is a solid point actually. I travel for work, and rely on my Switch to get me through 1-2hr flights - and I never ever fear that the battery will collapse in that time. You're right that gyro/rumble features would likely be a drain on this... VoidofLight yes if it had motion controls and HD rumble(which TotK is likely to utilise) I'd buy the compact joycons in a heartbeat

As for the pro controller, I ditched that thing for the 8bitdo Ultimate for a while now… it puts the pro to shame. When he’s not paying off a loan to Tom Nook, Liam likes to report on the latest Nintendo news and admire his library of video games. His favourite Nintendo character used to be a guitar-playing dog, but nowadays he prefers to hang out with Judd the cat.Dom_31 Actually….as someone who has had the 8bitdos, all forms of split “pro controller”-like joycon replacements, multiple joycons and pro controllers…….the Hori Split Pad Compact/Slim is the one I use for portable gaming. Sure, you miss out the amiibo functionality, gyro, Bluetooth and vibration, but for attached joycon style portable gaming, these are the one I use. I find it the most comfortable in my hands for long play sessions without giving up too much of everything else. I play in bed before sleep so I don’t need to be swinging my Switch around. That said, I wouldn’t recommend any joy-con replacements without gyro for TOTK. Also, this is my first comment here, since I just bought a Switch Oled and Zelda TotK on an absolute whim for the love of games 😄 and I've since bought a controller and a dongle to turn ps5 controllers into Switch controllers to play this beautiful game in as many ways as possible. And I can't stop myself 😂😂 any other paraphernalia I "need" as I'm new to switch? 😁

Not_Soos I have AC Switch. The joy cons are kinda pastel. I think they match the promotional image on the box, and that they look nice. I wouldn't consider them dingy. More detailed settings can also be made from Switch Settings → Controller and Sensors. However, note that this will affect other games. The Default Setting Is Fine I'm tempted to get a Split-Pad Hori Pro but I'll wait for a sale...if it ever does at some point. Just not the Zelda theme ones.

See where it all began

Currently, we have the two weapon menus assigned to it, so we’re not stretching our hands across while aiming an arrow to blind a bunch of Bokoblins. Nintendo Switch Online just added two retro classics, as Pokémon Stadium 2 and Pokémon Trading Card Game are now available on the service. Both games have been updated to feature online multiplayer. This TomToc case looks great, and is exactly what I need. As long as it can fit a few game cards I'm grand I bought a Split Pad Pro just to combat Drift. It's good - does what I wanted - but is a bit more bulky and cumbersome than I'd like. The model on the right does look more like what I'm after. I wonder what it's called (just Joy-Cons?) CJD87 I don't think it's a question of R&D for Hori. They could add rumble and wireless to it, and I have no doubt they would, if Nintendo would let them.

I just wish HORI would invest the R&D into making exactly the same product, but with rumble/gyro. Considering the quality of HORI products, I'd happily swallow a 20% increase on the RRP to have those functionalities. While the new Switch OLED model is due to arrive on April 28, the Pro Controller, Carrying Case, and the game are set to arrive two weeks later on May 12. None of the three newly revealed hardware items come with a copy of the game. Without motion, hd rumble or NFC it's really pointless to use them in TotK since the game really uses those features. You'll be giving yourself a lesser experience. MetalKingShield Hori Split pad, they've been out in other colours for at least six months. it's the same thing, just smaller.Saying that though, sacrificing rumble and gyro is OK as the Compact pad quality is really great. If you play handheld 50% of time or more then definitely a must-buy IMO In total for Switch, I own a standard Pro Controller; wireless Hori Sonic; Pac-Man Split Pad Pro; Power-A wireless Mario Bros. 3 and Twilight Princess; and Power-A wired Super Mario Bros., Kirby, and Metroid Dread. I also have Joy-Con in grey, OLED white, blue Skyward Sword edition, and two pairs of Animal Crossing ones I never use. But if i would buy "stuff which are not just games", i would maybe be more interested in collectors editions and the very cool mario kart home circuit which i was pretty close to buy once when it was on sale but even on sale it was still kind of expensive, about 50 dollars (or the equivalent in swedish kronor). And i maybe needed to buy other stuff. Also, an SD card for Switch might be nice and maybe some amiibo. ryu_san A shame these don't have motion controls, given Zelda TOTK Will use gyro aiming for arrows and whatnot.
