About this deal

My observations were the AKM in the J2 was just too warm and the ESS 9219 in the UP5 a tad too clean and bright. Much as I preference with this IEM the ever slight weight the CS dacs was the perfect middle ground. I can't speak for other reviewers but sometimes I wonder if they put in the time & effort to give whatever they are reviewing its due respect? Sennheiser’s answer. Whether you’re a lifelong audiophile — or you just want better sound on the road — these Make sure to push the tips deeper into the canal in this particular tip position; otherwise, high-pitched vocals may sound shouty.

The CS source added in just a tad of the weight for male vocals and proper instrument tone while providing the more resolving clean nature needed to make female vocals sound right. Thanks Melissa Ethridge. For testing the audio quality, we connected the IE 200 monitors to an iMac, as well as to a McIntosh stereo receiver that's part of a larger component chain. Overall, we found the sound signature balanced and beautiful; it's ideal for evaluating mixes or simply hearing every detail from your favorite tunes. All products sold on Headphone Zone carry a GST compliant invoice and all products sold include an 18% GST. Sennheiser’s answer. Whether you’re a lifelong audiophile — or you just want better sound on the road — Treble on the S12 is more energetic, it sounds more detailed as well. Might sound bright to some. IE200 is smoother and inoffensive.

A revised, braided cable reduces handling noise, and terminates to widely a 3.5mm stereo plug and MMCX connectors for connection to countless audiophile devices. One final thing to be aware of is the old ‘sweet spot’ meme. This does apply to the IE 200 but less so in terms of any specific fitting angle. Rather, for them to be effective you do need to push them in tight as any loss of seal will greatly diminish their performance. TipsOne earpiece only weighs about 4 grams, so they’re not heavy in any way. They don’t want to fall out of your ears all the time, though the tip selection helps with that. The cable is very light as well, so it won’t be pulling down on the earpieces either. And with the individually adjustable ear hooks, you can set the monitors just how you want, so they won’t bother you in any way. The 7mm “TrueResponse” driver has very low Total Harmonic Distortion. This makes the IE 200 ideal for high SPL listening and EQing. The diaphragm is polymer-based, which can mean several things, including PET, PEEK, and such. Sennheiser does not explicitly mention the diaphragm material. Tuning We'll be interested to see how the IE 200 does for Sennheiser - it has every chance of acting like a gateway drug for those who've been interested in going down the audiophile route but were put off by the prices. The IE 200 outer plate is slightly forward or raised housing the Sennheiser logo. The logo itself is a subtle shade of green though it’s quite reflective and does not always show up in our pics. Under certain lighting conditions, you should be able to spot the coloration. Trumpets here are silky or should sound that way with good timbre, overall mix how does it present, and of course Poncho’s drums )
