About this deal

El final es feliz pero lo que pasa alrededor deja un sabor amargo. Tiene extras pero son una historia en un universo alterno que no modifica la trama principal.

Also, whoever said its angstier than 2HA was lying. It had its moments where I was sobbing, tearing up, screaming into my pillow but 2HA hurt more tbh or maybe im just immune to angst now

I could be wrong, but I feel like Meatbun might have a slight problem: she goes a little too extreme. I love how extreme she is, she’s not afraid to get her characters emotional, but sometimes, it’s a little too emotional. Rather than feeling the angst, I just start feeling awkward. Furthermore, she has the characters sometimes just do some uncharacteristic things that are just so bizarre it kind of takes me out of the reading experience. The plot. As usual, Meatbun delivers a really trippy plot where you have no clue who is the big bad guy. You can’t trust anyone. Some of the cruelest characters might turn out to be the nicest people in the world. Some of the nicest people might turn out to be really dark and evil. I thought I had a pretty good guess about who was good or bad. But oh boy, I was so wrong. Gu Mang, ever since you cleared your head, why must you constantly look for his sore points and make things unpleasant for him...” One thing I do respect about danmei authors is just how far they're willing to go to bring down the main characters to their lowest points. Like, truly abject misery and degradation. I've only read MXTX's MDZS and TGCF, so maybe this has given me a false impression of the genre, but I think that's maybe a pattern. The whole thing about Gu Mang not even realizing he is human, really convinced he is no more than a beast--how on the nose, how fun.

Just in case, if you are interested, this story takes place years, maybe centurie -well nobody is certain cause is a lot of time!- before the events of "The husky and his white cat shizun" so it's set in the same universe, but YuWu events or story line are prior of what happens with the story of Chu Wanning and Mo Ran, so sorry to dissapoint they dont get to interact. However I highly recommend to read first " the husky" so when you read this one, you will find some easter eggs and have a better reading experience ofc! but if you dont do it, thats okay it doesnt matter that much, 💓👋 Don't worry, even if you're no longer a noble young master, you'll always be you. There's an ember in your heart, and sooner or later, it will glow. I can see it, and others will too.” As the case of the murders in the capital comes to a close, Mo Xi takes custody of Gu Mang, the traitor who was once his lover. With his betrayer now firmly in his grasp, Mo Xi believes he can manipulate Gu Mang into revealing the hidden secrets within his broken mind. Yet one question continues to haunt Mo Xi: Is Gu Mang pretending, or has he truly forgotten everything? Despite the sting of Yan Wushi’s betrayal fresh on his heart, Shen Qiao rushes to save him from certain death only to arrive a moment too late—or so it seems. As rumor of Yan Wushi’s demise spreads far and wide, the winds of change stir across the land. Meanwhile, Shen Qiao seeks to heal Yan Wushi’s grave injuries, and realizes that his understanding of the Demon Lord runs only skin-deep. Yet fate does not allow the pair to remain idle for long. They were enemies, separated by a chasm of accumulated hatred only death could resolve. But before this had come to pass, before they had parted ways, these two youths had once been passionately entangled—until love became one with desire. Until they were loath to part.”
