About this deal

The European Union’s total chocolate production reached an estimated 3.7 million tonnes in 2019. Denmark produced 21 thousand tonnes of chocolate products in 2019, accounting for only 0.6% market share. The largest chocolate producing EU countries in volume were Germany and Italy, with 1,159 thousand tonnes and 553 thousand tonnes respectively. The chocolate production volumes of Sweden and Norway are not published.

Most Norwegian recipes for risboller include raw eggs, but since a lot of you are American and raw eggs are not always safe to eat in the US, I created a version of risboller without eggs. And I actually think this is my favorite risboller recipe now! They’re so easy to make, but they taste quite unique and always get so many compliments. Sweden has the largest organic retail market in Scandinavia with €2.1 billion in 2019, making up approximately 9% of all retail sales. In Denmark, the share of organic retail sales was even higher with 12% in 2019, when total organic retail sales reached €2 billion, marking a growth of 9.4% compared to the previous year. The Norwegian organic market is a lot smaller, with organic retail sales amounting to €441 million in 2019, and only 1% of total retail sales estimated to be organic. Organic food consumption in Norway increased by 8% in 2019. There has also a peanut version round and about called ‘Peanøtt Kubbe' although I haven't seen it for a while. The peanut taste is much more overpowering than the rice of the original. However, I'm not sure whether that's because that's the genuine taste, or because I really don't like peanuts very much! TroikaI love Swedish treats, but sometimes I mix them up with Norwegian desserts. There are some similarities between these neighbors as far as their cuisine goes! Can’t wait until you come to Norway? At least after that workout I was strong enough to carry my Christmas tree downstairs in January. As much as I like a good sugar cookie, I prefer something like this. Short and buttery, it has a better flavor and can be served plain or with a glaze.

Kvikk Lunsj has also become something of a cultural symbol in Norway. It's often used as a shorthand for Norwegian culture and values, and has been referenced in Norwegian literature, film, and television. In fact, it's even been suggested that Kvikk Lunsj should be considered a national symbol of Norway, alongside the Norwegian flag and the bunad (traditional Norwegian clothing). Smultringer are basically an extra delicious old fashioned donut. I always buy these in the grocery store instead of making them from scratch, but my grandmother’s neighbor always used to make these so I do know that the homemade ones are even tastier. I would use this Norwegian recipe for smultringer. Here’s my translation: Norwegian smultringer recipeMix the vanilla sugar and sugar, and gradually add them to the egg whites, while whipping at medium speed. Continue beating the egg whites until you have a stiff and glossy meringue. It was brought to market by Norwegian confectioner Freia in 1937, two years after the KitKat. But it was in the 1960s that Freia took a critical step. They began to promote the Kvikk Lunsj as the chocolate bar for hikers and skiers. The outdoors connection

See our study on doing business with European buyers of cocoa for more tips on marketing and promotional aspects of your cocoa. Trinitario is mainly cultivated in Central and South America, the Caribbean and Asia. These beans are a hybrid of the Criollo and Forastero trees. This variety represents 10%–15% of the global cocoa production. These beans have a floral, fruity flavour. The cocoa beans from Trinitario trees are classified as fine flavour cocoa. There are exceptions, however, such as Cameroonian cocoa beans, which are produced from Trinitario trees and classified as bulk cocoa beans. Well-known varieties are Carenero, Rio Caribe and Sur del Lago. Freia Firkløver(four-leaf clover) chocolate is the same as the classic Freia Milk Chocolate, but comes with roasted pieces of hazel nut. It was first sold in 1926, and is a favorite chocolate amongst many Norwegians. Milk chocolate is still very popular in Norway, and there are now several factories using Norwegian milk to make the mild, velvety soft chocolate, with Freia and Nidar being the largest brands. But bolder flavours are also now entering the market. Cardamom is pretty popular in Scandinavia, and you’ll see almond desserts all over. When combined, it’s such a lovely mix of mild fruit and nuts.See our study on trade statistics for cocoa for more detailed information about the European trade in cocoa beans. What’s different here is that you will be mixing the butter with the dry first, rather than creaming it with sugar. Norwegian sweets and candies are some of the best in the world. From Twist to Kremtopper, there is something for everyone. The unique flavors and textures of Norwegian chocolates are sure to please even the most discerning sweet tooth. NSFD: Not Safe For Dieters!
